Sealed Sword Chapter 9: The Misty Isles

Walkthrough

After saving Caslte Ostia from it's own soldiers, we must head to the Western Isles where we have been instructed by Etruria to get rid of their bandit proble. Great use of the entire Lycian army... We arrive on the coast and are immediately mistaken for pirates, by the legitimate pirates... it's just not our day.

The fog rolls in for our first fog of war chapter. Thieves are integral to this chapter, bring Chad or Asthol. Other integral characters for this chapter are Noah, who is needed to recruit Fir, and Sue who we need to recruit Shin.

The map is very awkwardly laid out, it consists of small little island platforms intersected by small, narrow bridges. The initial four turns aren't too difficult, it's all about reaching the platform in the middle. Get rid of the pirates over the south bridge and head in towards the centre.

From here on out it gets a bit trickier, the are pirates, archers and mages in abundance hiding in the fog. You're going to want to move slowly, the pirates aren't too much trouble, but the mages and archers hit hard, so if your units get hit by more than one of these enemies, they could be in trouble.

You need to split your units into two groups, one to head north and the other to head south. Sue and Noah need to be a part of the northern group, as Fir and Shin appear from the western side of the map. The group that heads south should be mostly comprised of sword users, Dieck, Rutger, Oujay and even Roy along with some ranged users, Dorothy, Lugh, Lilina are great compliments.

The other group will head north over the bridge, heading towards the castle and the two villages in the north-east. Fir appears on the far side of the northern bridge on turn 5, Shin should not be far behind. Recruit them quickly so as they don't try and attack your units.

The group that heads south should be lead by Dieck or Rutger, just in case the enemy units attack in a large group. Blocking them off on the bridges and letting your units attack from range to finish them off. When you visit the south-western village you will recieve a Silver Sword, I doubt anybody can use it at the moment though. Pirates begin to spawn from the forts to the west of the middle platform, if you're not careful all 3 pirates that spawn will head north towards those units, so try and keep the northern group over the bridge so that the southern two pirates don't head north.

These pirates are amazing exp. Give Fir an Iron Sword and put a healer behind her and she can gain tons of experience. Same with Shin or any other low level character. I've gotten Fir to lv.7 before from simply farming these pirates.

The penultimate section of the map is interesting. There are two villages, and an Armory and Shop if you need to stock up on some weapons. There is a house to the west of the two villages and inside there is a woman who will tell you that both of those villages are evacuating, so you'd better visit them quickly, but you only have time to visit one of them, so you have a decision to make.

The village on the left takes you to the north of the islands, and gives you a Killer Bow, the village on the right sends you to the south of the island and gives you a Restore staff. The choice you make influences which two chapters you will next face, and you will get two alternating characters depending on the route, so choose wisely...

Defeat Oh lord, a Berserker with a fresh 30% crit chance, on top of a throne, this makes for one tough boss. If you attack him up close he'll destroy you with his Silver Axe.
You can either attack him from range with your mages and archers, rescuing them after they attack so they don't get counterattacked.
Or you can make him attack from range by leaving somebody in his range and on the next turn attacking him with your sword users.
