Sealed Sword Chapter 10 A: The Resistance Forces
Walkthrough
Since you have reached this chapter, it means you chose the village on the left. You made the better
choice in my opinion. Route A gets you the better version of Gonzales, the better pre-promoted unit in the Hero Echidna, a little ramp up in difficulty is enough to pay for the better units.
This chapter isn't too difficult, the difficulty is set to lower your guard for the following chapter, but we'll get to that soon enough.
There are two main 'blocks' of enemies. The first group is directly south over the bridges and there is another group on the next island part down. There is a ballista on the western side near the sea, so unless you have trained Thany up, I wouldn't suggest bringing her, because if she gets in range of it she will be destroyed. Also be wary of leaving any weak or low-HP units in range of it.
The first two turns are annoying as hell, the first group of enemies rush towards you like headless chickens, you need to set up right so that you can defeat them all on your turn, lest one of the remnants of this group randomly kill one of your units with their infuriatingly low hit rates.
The second group isn't as tough as the first group, the only scary part of this group is the Berserker who sits in the middle, if you leave somebody on the bridge to draw him out, they should hopefully defeat him. Axe users aren't too much help for this chapter, even more so when you consider the two units you recruit are also axe users.
There's a village on the eastern side that you need to visit, an NPC Pirate, Geese will appear from the back of the village on turn 5, and he will try to had south towards the castle, talk to him with Roy to recruit him, he comes with balanced stats and a Brave Axe. If you want to use him shove an Iron Axe into his hands so the Brave Axe doesn't go to waste.
On turn 6, a Brigand called Gonzales leaves the castle and heads north, crossing the small river to try and reach the village, if you talk to him with Lilina he will join you.
The ballista on the western side has only 5 arrows, so once they run out it is useless, even better, when the ballista runs out of ammo, the archer doesn't even move off of it. He just stays there like a sitting duck.
There are sporadic pirate reinforcements from the fort in the sea on the western side of the map, those can easily be taken care of by any one of your sword users. The same with the fighter reinforcements that spawn from the two forts to the west of the castle.
Leave your units over or on the bridge and draw the fighters near. Excellent experience for somebody who needs it,
if Roy is behind in levels and is becoming a pain to try and keep alive, give it to him. You can try and train Gonzales or Geese off of these but their hit rates are woefully unreliabele. I suggest a sword user you are invested in, Fir, Rutger or Oujay are all good choices.
Once they are all done with, it is time to head for the boss.

Defeat |
Nosferatu, what a pain in the ass, you can attack him from range, or up close, it doesn't really matter. He's still probably going to hit you with his supbar ~50% hit rate. Leave units in front of him so that he will initiate the fight, that way he can't regen any of his HP. Well trained units like Dieck or Rutger should fair well against him, Dorothy if she has been trained can do a lot of damage, I gave her the Killer Bow from the previous chapter and she went to town on the boss. |
