Chapter 12: Birds of a Feather
Walkthrough
En route to Santaruz, our gang of adorable misfits, and Marcus, are attacked by a group of bandits. What do these bandits want, and how quickly can we defeat them?
Marcus' duty for this chapter is to visit the village and stay there. We can't have him stealing any of our valuable experience points. There are a couple of different types of enemies including soldiers, mercenaries and archers, but none of them should pose much of an issue.
On the first two turns, the brigands and mercenaries around the south-eastern fort are easy pickings, lure them in and kill them with whoever you want.
On turn three, Zagan, the boss begins to move. This also coincides with the arrival of two more units for our team. Hector, the third and final Lord we will meet in the game, and his loyal confidant, Oswin, who is a very powerful Knight.
If you leave Hector and Oswin in the spaces on which they appear, Zagan will head to the west. If you move the two of them south slightly, Zagan will head directly south.
The way to defeat the enemies that are too far away from Hector and Oswin is quite simple. You can do one of two things, leave Eliwood or Lowen with an Iron Sword on the fort that is in the south-east and let the rest take care of itself,
or you can set up your entire team around the fort and share out the experience points, especially with Rebecca who will possibly get the final hit on a few enemies.
The reason for this is that all the enemy units attempt to funnel southwards over the tiny patch of crossable mountain. The enemies essentially chokepoint themselves and only emerge one at a time, making them easy to pick off for your group.

He has a lot of Health, but apart from that he has no other strong features. Gang up on him with all your units on the same turn and he'll go down in a flash. Otherwise leave Eliwood or Lowen on the fort in the south-east and they'll take care of him, |
