Chapter 22: Living Legend
Walkthrough
Having been told by Lord Uther to head to the desert and seek out a 'Living Legend' we find ourselves stuck in the arid heat and the scorched sand of the Nabata Desert. With no clue what our troupe is supposed to be searching for they wander further into the desert.
Suddenly they see a man being attacked by brigands, it's up to Eliwood and crew to rescue this man who says he is simply searching for something...
What the hell is this, two bosses??? God damn it that's just a pain. They're both very powerful Warriors so I hope you have a trained Sword user at hand to help take them down. Another problem is Pent. He is stuck in the middle of the map for the first few turns until we can get to him.
The problem isn't that we're worried that we might die. The problem is that he is so strong he will kill off a lot of enemies before we even get a chance to attack them, thereby wasting exp. Normally this isn't too big of an issue, but to access the Gaiden chaptter 22x, you need to gain 700 or more exp in this chapter.
That means 7 or more full 0 - 100 exp level ups which can be surprisingly difficult to regulate. I suggest bringing 2 - 3 untrained units who are low level and try and feed them kills, such as Heath or if you haven't trained Fiora or Florina.
A berserker, Hawkeye appears from the south east of the map on the second turn, he is recruitable if you talk to him with Eliwood. Also in the south east, around the area where he spawns there is an Ocean Seal buried in the desert.
On to the chapter, we are positioned in the north-east of the map. Pent is in the center and the enemies are littered all around.
Our first mission is rescue Pent. Kill the enemies that are in range at the start, the cavalier, the nomads, the knights. Send one of your fliers to the south, you need to reach Pent as soon as possible.
Next turn, start heading into the desert, rescue Pent if you can, if not, wait till the next turn. Send one of your thieves to the south to get the Ocean Seal.
Pent will not move as long as he is not in range of any enemies, so drop him off on the western side somewhere and forget about him.
Jasmine, the first boss is in the direct center of the map. Aim for him first. Make sure to steal the Guiding Ring off of him before you kill him. He has a Hand Axe and will exclusively use that, send a strong sword user in to take him down.
From this point on it's a case of dodging around enemies. You do not want the chapter to end before you have picked up all the items from the desert. Wyverns, mages and shamans appear from the eastern side on alternating turns. They move towards you so stay out of their range on their turn, then move in and kill them on yours.
Kill Paul, the second boss of this chapter last if you can. He is the stronger of the two warriors because of the Killer Axe he has. If he crits, you are dead. Use a strong sword user or somebody tanky to draw him out. Don't use them if they have a low luck stat. Then gang up on him on your turn from range. If not, make sure that another enemy stays alive till your thieves have reached the north-east. The Body Ring is buried just below the ridge in the south-east.
Once you've taken everything from the desert, kill that final enemy and end the chapter.
