Sealed Sword Chapter 6: The Trap


Walkthrough

Our first proper castle chapter and it's a pain in the ass. Two pathways, eight locked rooms and tons of enemies and reinforcements. I couldn't have asked for more really.

We start off in the southernmost part of the map, bring two healers and both cavaliers, the stronger of the two fighters. If Thany and Bors have been trained they are very useful, if not lave them behind.

To start the chapter split your units into three groups, one to head up the western corridor, one up the eastern corridor and the final, largest group to head up the middle of the map. Send one Cavalier to each side, to deal with the Mercenaries that lie in wait, and to draw in the soldiers that lie slightly up the hall.
The group that heads up the middle pathway should consist of ranged users. Thany and Bors with Javelins work brilliantly, or else your new Archer Dorothy who has very good base stats can hit pretty hard with her steel bow. Be careful on the second turn, some of your units may be hurt and if they're left in range of the enemies they will be killed.

The first part of the map is dealing with the initial enemies, once that is done we can concentrate on dealing with the ones that come from behind all the doors.

Cath, a female thief appears from the south-east corner of the starting position on turn six. She tries to open some of the chests and then leave the map. If you talk to her with Roy she will becomme passive and just try and leave the map via the northern stairs beside the boss. Just make sure to steal her lockpick and vulnerary first.

Once the initial enemies have been cleared out we can look at the other rooms, this is where all those Door Keys you bought in the previous two chapters will come in handy. The south west and east rooms have nothing in them except a staircase. Two turns after you open the doors to these rooms, enemy reinforcements come flying out so be prepared for them and try not to leave anybody in range of the room on that turn. Three of the four rooms along the two sides of the map house chests for Chad to open, they contain a multitude of great items and a bunch of gold. The 4th room on the top left along the side houses Sue, a captured Nomad prisoner. She is an NPC so talk to her with Roy and she will join you. She has no weapons so if you plan on using her, bring a spare Iron Bow with you.

The final two rooms are both extensions of the throne room and aren't too tricky, open the door and the 4 enemies are just sitting there. prepare your units before you charge into the room and it won't be much trouble. The problem is that, on the turn after you have opened one of these doors, six enemy reinforcements appear from the south and head straight towards your position. These enemies are quite strong so be wary of leaving somebody in range of too many of them.

The two knights near the boss and the first mage inside the room do not move so they can be killed at your leisure, once they're gone, it's time for Wagner!

Defeat Very few of your units can actually double attack him, your best bet is to attack him with Dieck and Rutger, they will have the best chance of killing him. If you get hit by Flux, rescue and heal.

Weaker and slower units are useless here, Thany can be okay if she has gained points in strength in a few of her levels.
