Thanks everyone. The last week has been great. Now comes the hectic part. Wedding planning. My fiancee is super organized, so she is already starting the plans. From what she's told me, she pretty much has the whole wedding pictured in her head. I'm definitely looking forward to it. 14 months to go. It seems like a really long time, but I know it will just go by like that. And Blazer, no need to send a gift.

but BW2 have the Pokemon World Tournament which is just a really cool thing to fihgt all the past leaders and champions along with remixed music, it's pretty rad.

Wow. This alone makes me want to play BW2. The first two generations were my favorite ones, so being able to battle the leaders again would be cool. Honestly, this single-handedly shifted my opinion toward this generation. I totally forgot that they had a BW2. It depends on how awesome this feature is, and I want to learn more about it. Is it worth it for just this section? I also like stuff like the Battle Frontier. I played the hell out of that in Platinum.

Personally, I thought the rivals were pretty cool in the first two generations. It felt awesome fighting Gary as a kid. It was just like the TV show, and Gary was awesome. The GSC rival wasn't half bad. He wasn't as cool as Gary/Blue, but I thought he had a cool character arc. I completely agree with you though afterward. The RSE ones were kinda pointless and weren't even really rivals. It wasn't as satisfying to beat them during a battle because they weren't antagonists. Same for DPPt. I never played after that, so I can't really comment. However, if the trend of lamer rival in each successive generation continued, I certainly don't think you're wrong.

I think they should definitely be a rival, in the sense that Gary and Silver were. Not in the "friend" version that the other rivals seem to be.

Yeah I'm not super concerned with the story. Just the gameplay. I used to play competitively during the previous generations. I was thinking of playing OR/AS simply because it's newer and probably has the most up-to-date mechanics, but X/Y does look like the overall better experience. So far, I'm leaning toward X/Y.

I married Azura in Birthright. It just seemed to flow story-wise, and I like the plot-parallels between them. I'm using a Female Avatar in my Conquest playthrough that I just started. I'm not sure who I want to marry. I don't really know who all the characters are yet on that side, so I guess we will see. Any suggestions?
