We'll for the assassin there is a skill called theif key which should do that. For you defense guy/girl if they have a custom class/lord class give the ability to that or just make them a general.
Hmm the generals Sheild will probably be Nader class so I don't know if you can give to character you would have to give it to a class. What are you trying to give the Sheild ability?(cause I've gone through SS once without activating it once)
Well there are different generic enemies. For example you could have everyone set to bandit except that one and have as theif or pirate or whatever else you find. And if you want the names all the same you can just use FEditor Adv to change it.
