I think it would be interesting to see a Sothe/Micaiah duo. Micaiah would have the stronger, slower attacks and Sothe would have the weaker, faster attacks. Presumably you'd control Sothe and Micaiah would follow him around. Or Micaiah alone like Blazer said would be nice.

I like the Micaiah idea. The Sothe + Micaiah one is definitely interesting; maybe it could be pulled off in a fashion similar to Ice Climbers?
Though there is one thing I don't like, now I think about it...
I HATE MICAIAH SHE ANNOYS THE HELL OUT OF ME AND ALWAYS DIES. Erm, but I digress, since personalities don't mean anything in fighting games

In all honestly, I'm pretty sure FE13 will be a brand new FE game. HOPEFULLY not a remake. If that's the case, it should be release within a year or two here. SSB on the other hand, it's gonna take maybe 4-5 years before it's released here. If that's the case, maybe the main character of FE13 will fill up the 3rd FE spot?

I'd be surprised if the next FE game was in America in 1 year given that it's been nearly a year and FE12 isn't here yet. But yes, FE13 will most definitely come before SSB.

It doesn't make sense. Why would they all of a sudden stop releasing the FE games outside of Japan?

It makes perfect sense.
Look at Fe12. No word and it's almost been a year since the Japanese release.
Above all, IS/Nintendo is a business. And businesses need to make profit to stay afloat. If something isn't selling well or isn't popular overseas, they're not going to try it anymore.
I don't know if SD didn't sell well, but it's something you can't really overlook.

If by "not selling well" you mean "selling way better than in both Japan and Europe" then yes, Fire Emblem is not selling well. Someone did some comparison after Nintendo gave Operation Rainfall the finger and a a bunch of games, including RD, got WAY more sales in American than EU or Japan, and they were all similar to some game that was being pushed for release here.

I agree with Coolperson. It doesn't make much sense. But we have to accept things for what they are: Fire Emblem just hasn't been around lately. FE12 was cool for a little but it never spread to the U.S. so it died down quickly. Especially since FE12's plot isn't as interesting as it could be for fans who've played FE3...

Well, the console games did. SD was pretty close. Someone posted a picture on FB when Nintendo said that there weren't any plans and it compared sales. RD was on there and did way better here than in Japan, but it's probably buried in like 7234087234087 comments now, though.

It adds a lot over FE3's, though. I'm sure that of everyone out there you have definitely figured it out given how much you've worked with the game. There are 17 brand new chapters and the BSFEs.
