First: Where can I get the Spell Association module for fe8? Second: How does one edit the starting class of Vanessa and Moulder? Changed all of their instances in chapter 2, and nothing happened.

It's called "Custom Item Animation List" for FE8. The one you have likely needs to be updated. Just unzip this file in the item editors folder and you should be good.

Did you restart the chapter after you changed their classes?

In terms of chapter unit editor, Vanessa and Moulder are considered to be in the chapter beforehand. It's weird, but whatever.

Thanks, got the Custom Animation List working. However, I triple checked the chapter one unit editor, and not once does it reference vanessa or moulder, or even just a peg knight or priest.

Nevermind, apparently restarting the chapter doesn't work to re-get them. Used another save file and it worked just fine.

...Really? Ummm.. Mis-remembering again it seems... Time to check.

 

Ah, they're indeed in chapter two, but I think they're loaded after Chapter 1's completion on the world map, not upon starting Chapter 2.

Yep. There are two instances of them on the Chapter two unit editor, I guess I didn't get the ones that corresponding to their initial obtaining when I tried it the first time.
