How do they heckin' work? I know that in FE7 Nightmare, they're just listed under the characters themselves, but for some reason I can't find them at all for Sacred Stones. Anyone know anything about this?

What palette are we talking about here? Portraits? Battle sprites?

It's for battle sprites; basically what I'm doing is trying to get the people whose promotions I've changed (namely Amelia and Moulder) to not be the default coloration, instead using their character palettes.

What you need is the Palette Association Editor. It should be in the main folder of whatever FE8 modules .zip you found.

Aight, for some reason the module I got didn't have that in it, but I was able to find a copy of it somewhere else, so thanks for telling me what I needed to look for!
