All of"a"sudden or all of"the"sudden. Both are grammatically correct, but people typically only use the former. Personally i use the first when i speak, but for writing it looks a bit awkward(don't ask me why i think that because i have no idea). Whenever i write i prefer all of"the"sudden. Any thoughts? Somebody else have a preference between the two? Do i spend too much time thinking about crap that doesn't matter?

Also i was kinda wondering if anyone else has any dumb grammar preferences

I like grammar. It's a great thing. I usually follow 90% of the rules to perfect typing/writing, but whatever ones I've missed I haven't discovered or been corrected on yet. I have too many to list. >.>

All of the sudden just sounds weird and wrong to me. It's idiomatic, anyway. Grammar doesn't have much to do with it. Like, what even is a sudden?

On the topic of grammar, though, I just gave myself a trip when I tried pulling apart the verbs in "would have had to have pulled over." Seven different words that all come together to form a single verb-idea. Like, what is that? Past perfect subjunctive that you have to build with some helping verbs and two phrasal verbs? It could get worse - can you imagine not being a native English speaker and parsing "with which I would have had to have put up?"
