So pretty much, I spend a lot of time following games of all sorts. This is my thread for posting any information or stuff I find interesting. Usually Nintendo stuff since that's what I delve into/hear about the most.

 

I will just post spam here whenever I feel like reflecting on stuff, and people are of course free to chime in if anything interests them. also, in case you think I'm crazy, posting here and not in say, a comments section helps me avoid random people on the internet bothering me LOL. so it's kind of like thinking out loud, but not wanting strangers to hear you, which is a little crazy, but meh. I guess I am a little crazy. XP

I'll probably enjoy it and take it at my own pace but at the same time it's understandably not the kind of game I can get super crazy over, it's not exactly a super quality series or anything, just a ton of "fan service" (in multiple meanings of the term...)

This game series has been a constant top seller on Sony platforms for yeeeeeeeears. It's probably going to do well here too since the other games have also been pretty big sellers, but this would be the first game to be released on a Nintendo platform.

huh, really? I did NOT know that. Very interesting. I have heard of the series, but I didn't know it actually sold relatively well. Or that it was the first one to hit Nintendo consoles. Perhaps I should do some research, haha. Do you enjoy the series yourself (or are you just aware of it or something)?

 

I think I'm pretty satisfied with just Resident Evil and Fatal Frame for my horror stuff, though, so I probably won't pick it up if it gets localized... but I still hope it does, just because the more games the better, lol. I imagine it wouldn't get a physical release though (it seems not even Fatal Frame for Wii U is getting a physical release over here, and it could really use one IMO: nice to have that presence on store shelves + people were begging for the game a lot...) so meh. Companies are less willing to put out physical releases for mature games, it seems, perhaps in part due to a fear that they won't sell well on Nintendo platforms or it won't fit with the Nintendo image, so an eShop only release is the safest bet... >_> (No Dual Destinies physical release either, QQ)

so we might not be getting Devil's Third. T_T >_> so lame. I wanted it, and I wanted it to be good, lol. Even if we do get it, it apparently might be really bad (which is why Nintendo might not be backing it anymore). Soooo lame. Was wondering what was up with how Europe and Japan had release dates for it but we didn't and we didn't even see it at E3, lol. Blah. I mean, not going to be the end of the world if it stinks, but idk, feels like the Wii U could use every non-indie game it can get and bonus points if it's actually a good game lol, all we really have right now is 1st-party support with a bit of 2nd-party support >_>

Just thinking about what system I want to play it on. Vita is nice but I hardly play it and can't record it... PS4 is nice and I can record it but I can't cheat like I can on PS3... meh, I guess the normal thing to do is to not cheat and try to get it for the best system (unless I really want portability, which I don't) so meh... PS4 it is I guess? >_< ugh purchasing decisions so hard, I kind of like it better when I don't get to choose. >___>;

I don't expect them to. as long as it doesn't look awful/doesn't make me cringe, I'll be fine. Good graphics are nice and all but it's not the end of the world if the graphics aren't amazing, so long as it plays well... granted that's still up in the air as far as this game goes. for now though, I'll keep my pre-order...

I also didn't like how precise you had to be with jumps for some levels later on. idk, it's just kind of like, not for me. it's not that it's not fun, but the execution is a bit of a turn-off. :\

I'm still grinding through EOU: TMG which finally got relatively fun but idk if I want to play any more in the series. There's a dandy little trick where you can make an auto path in a square and turn it on, it will constantly move you and get you into encounters. Then all you need to do is clip the A button down. This will let you power level so you just need to set down the game for like a day and be close to max level lol. Just make sure you have the skill that heals you after every fight maxed out so you don't game over in the middle of it.

that seems somewhat pointless given that I can just use cheat codes and get the same effect way quicker and with significantly less effort or chance for failure, IMO =P it does sound cool though (and kind of old-school in terms of the concept of exploiting games in ways like that, lol)

Except cheating on a 3ds game requires apowersaves as far as I'm aware. Are there other ways?

Even then powersaves require physical cartridge. So if you're like me and went digital, then you'll have to resort to the good ole exploits. I think you can load cheat codes if you have homebrew stuff, but you'll need 9.2 firmware on your 3DS to do that I believe.

yeah, I have powersaves (and the thing you need isn't that expensive IIRC) so that's not a problem. and usually unless a game is digital-only or extremely cheaper digitally than physically, I get physical, so there's that.
