So the rumors were true (go figure, they popped up QUITE a bit, lol; wasn't a very well-kept secret). Aside from a PS4 port of an originally PS3 game, the game's also going to be launched on PC (Steam, presumably?) which I find interesting.

 

Here were my comments on hearing that it's coming to PC:

So yeah, thoughts? Anyone excited or planning to get it? Unless they say they not only fixed all the technical issues but also somehow fixed some other problems, I won't be getting it. And if I do get it it'll be when it's like, $9.99 or something stupidly cheap. I played the Japanese version and even with the bias of it being a Tales of game (I was quite the fan) with real-time action combat (something I like) I still mostly complained about it, so yeah.

I miiiiiiiiight get it for the PS4 but I'll definitely hold off on buying it for a while.

If i see it on sale(assuming it will be on steam) I'll grab it for pc. But honestly i couldn't be bothered to get a physical copy.haven't heard great things about it so far.could use a jrpg on my laptop though.

I'm interested to try the game, because I like experiencing things myself. I think that is why I'm playing Bubsy. (Kill me)

I've got FF7 but that's it big enough game i guess, but i can't bring myself to finish it. lost about 8 hours of playing because of the stupid cloud saving thing, so i gave up on it.

pre-order campaigns, huh? didn't hear about the specifics, but I'm generally not a huge fan of those. I mean I guess it's ok but I'd like to think that stuff would just come over regardless in some form. I like bonuses that don't feel like if not enough people pre-order, you'll be missing out, or something. Idk exactly.

I'm not getting that (that being pre-order stuff), though my weird game store might just sell it to me at the normal price XD. I'm pretty sure every version they sell is the pre-order version, even if you didn't preorder it (which doesn't cost money idk how it works in the US).

I am laughing at trying to drum up sales with nostalgia by saying: "Oh, we got Tales of Symphonia for free on Steam for ya!" Like dangling a rubbish game in front of people is the smartest way to drum up sales.

ehhh, ToS is pretty fun so I don't blame them. I just find it hilarious that the pre-purchase of the game doesn't net you ToS till enough people pre-order it. I'm going to laugh my fucking ass off if there aren't enough pre-orders to unlock ToS. Ehhh, seems unlikely since we have 3 months till release, but a man can dream.

yeah I really dislike that, and you can even find LEs or such for the same price or cheaper way after it's come out. that's just STUPID to me. defeats the purpose and makes me feel like I got scammed into it. which is why now I'm even more particular about what I get. not going to buy games day-1 if I'm not going to play them within a few days, or I'm probably going to lose money for it (with the exception of most Nintendo games really, those don't drop price easily)
