OK guys, so there's a LOT of gaming news coming up with E3 less than a week away, and I don't want to make new topics for every little thing especially those which are unlikely to have much discussion around them.

 

As a result, I'm just going to spam this thread with updates. A lot of updates. Likewise, feel free to contribute. You're free to double-post in order to bump the thread given a reasonable timeframe.

 

Also, THE NEWS DOES NOT HAVE HAD TO HAVE COME OUT OF E3 OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. Pretty much as long as it's info about a game within 2 weeks of E3 itself, it's fair game, even it has nothing to do with E3/won't even be shown at it. So this is pretty much just a gaming news thread since there's SO much gaming news going around.

Comments: I played the Japanese demo and it was great. This is a pretty good DBZ series (2D) and is well-made and fun and I'd definitely pick it up if it came over here. If it has online play, hopefully someone else does too so I have someone to play with. I think it just came out in Japan, by the way.

Comments: It's weird for a DEMO to get patched, but meh, whatever. I'll accept it, lol. The FF Type-0 HD patch actually sounds kind of awesome since the motion blur and stuff are rather annoying. Maybe I can get back to playing that game soon after the patch, lol.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III isn't coming to Wii U - not even going to list an article link, this is pretty straightforward. Activision said this themselves, so that's that.

 

Comments: Kind of a shame, but not a big one. It's whatever. If I really wanted to play it I could play it on another platform. Not like the Wii U is a hub for these kinds of games, lol.

seems legit enough for me, it's a shame all this stuff gets leaked before (RIP actual quality surprises at E3 press conferences) but yeah, I don't think it's fake anymore, it'd just be too detailed/impressive for it to be fake at this point, IMO... and I feel like there'd be more evidence leaning towards it being fake, or people calling it out/saying stuff like that, but meh... if I'm wrong, then gj to whoever faked it I guess *shruggles*

Comments: I'm pretty much the only person I know who's actually a bit excited for this game. That and I wished Nintendo would push this a bit more. It's a 3rd-party exclusive that's actually rather violent and intended for mature audiences... and like... given that it's an exclusive by a person with a solid reputation, and the fact that it's been in development for a while, it's probably going to be a pretty awesome game... so I totally wish they'd push this more so it sells well (and I mean, it has online, sot he  more people playing it the better!)

Comments: I only want the ZSS one. I mean if I were rich I'd get the others/almost all of them in general except the characters I really dislike such as Wario, but nah, I only actually want ZSS. Thing is I have a feeling a LOT of people are going to want her (and Palutena) and this means getting her is going to be very tough unless stock is about as plentiful as it was for like, Mario. The OG Mario. or Link, since there's only one official version of him, as far as I know. >_>;

Host announced, some players announced I think, just a bit more info in general, and apparently people who go to Nintendo World can get to demo the game, or something. Yeah, the rest of us will just have to settle for watching other people play fun games, lol.

I'm not really excited for any SAO games, they need to become better games before I'm excited, though I do appreciate the fact that they're at least bringing over such games; normally more niche Japanese games don't even get translated and we miss out 9or fans have to translate it, often years later) so yeahhh, I like that at least (albeit HF's translation was terrible lol, which is partly why I didn't get it; I'm kind of better off with the Japanese version, I might even understand more of it LOL)

So Hyrule Warriors for the 3DS got leaked. Looks pretty cool, but I've got enough of this game with just the Wii U version lol. Though I will sadly be missing out on Tetra. Also the trailer got pulled, but GameXplain has an analysis of it on their channel if you want to get more info.

SAO:HF's North American translation isn't as bad as people claim it is. Or at least the spoken dialogue isn't. (It's certainly terrible at localizing, with how the vast majority of the translation is confirmed by my ear to be as direct as possible, but something as niche as this game probably doesn't really warrant it...) The explanation for gameplay mechanics/gameplay-specific dialogue suffer from being really vague or inconsistent at times IIRC, but we have guides for dealing with that.

 

For the kind of status SAO:HF has (AKA "cash-in that relies largely on the source material's popularity") I think it's an amazing game, though what I've seen of Lost Song seems to be a lot better at making it closer to SAO's world compared to the more traditional MMO approach Hollow Fragment has with its gameplay.

yeah, I'm not hyped for that since I already did what I wanted to do for HW for Wii U, though it's still cool to have. If I manage to actually catch up on back-log of Zelda games, I might consider getting it, but honestly I think the Wii U version will be superior over all given the better hardware, and the only thing HW for 3DS will have is increased portability, really.

well, it'll still bother me a bit/isn't as enjoyable for me, especially since I was hoping it'd clearly explain things like the mechanics and skills and stuff a bit better (I understood most of the dialog already >_>), meh I dunno I guess there's just not enough draw for a game like this for me to pick it up twice when the translation (the only difference between versions) isn't even that good

 

and yeah that's how it is, they're cash-ins, but they're still games and *CAN* be decent... just kinda unlikely lol

And supposedly it's getting a bit of adjustments/balancing to help alleviate some issues reported in the Japanese version. It's SaGa-inspired by the way; I think some of the people who even worked on the original series worked on this, so yeah, if you like that, this game is probably worth checking out, if nothing else, lol.)

Comments: I'm going to take a moment out to say that the internet is pretty much *blowing up* over this right now. That's what I see, anyway. Obviously a true FFVII remake would be HUGE news and this could be a HUGE leak except there's no real source/evidence of anything, and Siliconera isn't trusted by some people (though others are defending it, saying they're trustworthy). I'm personally skeptical and am just going to wait for a true announcement, but yeah, if this is a thing... wow. If it's not, then a lot of people are going to be disappointed and/or upset or something, lol.

Comments: Despite what one person and possibly others thing, most people seem to be in agreement that this E3 has been full of leaks... which to some extent is the norm, but still. Hyrule Warriors 3DS leak, the huge Smash character/stage/costume leak, Dishonored 2 leak, Gears of War remastered leak, 2 new PS4 models leaked, I think I heard of an Xbox One model leak, Tales of Zestiria ports leaked, Transformers: Devastation leaked, amiibos leaked, and of course that's just leaks, a lot of games were straight-up announced beforehand and there's a lot of plausible rumors as well though I won't get into those, and I'm probably missing some leaks too lol. Of course, there'll be plenty of surprises regardless, but yeah, some leaks already XP
