Not new news, but I hadn't posted it yet, so yeah, here you go! It's nearing 2 million? Anyone else think we can maybe get it to 2 million by the time the next console comes out or something? I've still yet to buy a physical copy myself, so there's that, and perhaps FEif will motivate some people to catch up on the series... and Awakening is a pretty highly acclaimed title so it seems like people who are picking up 3DS's tend to suggest getting the game to others, so there's that (it's likely to still sell slowly even though its launch was a while ago). I think it'll be tough but it should be possible! We should have at least a couple years where 3DS games are still selling a bit!

I've heard some people have issues with playing older games because they can't get it unless they pay huge amounts for a used copy or have to resort to piracy. So I don't think FEif would motivate many people to play the other games in the series (especially with how different it is.) Looking back at Awakening myself after playing it, I kind of feel like it's not worth playing again once I have my hands on FE:IF, but it's also true that I am kind of blinded by the hype right now so who knows.

I believe in judgment of humans through their judgment of fiction, for nothing else tells better of their disposition freed from apprehension.

@Mercurius I think OP Pair Up warrants returning to awakening lol.

And look at all those casual ruining my FE party *shot*

It's pretty great that FE is actually selling now. I think breaking 2 million might be plausible since FE:IF will probably get more people into the series and thus they will return to Awakening if they like the game.

I'm thinking that's the only real hope, even with tail sales it'd be difficult to hit 2m without something pushing FE, I think: thankfully we have FEif (and to a lesser extent, SMTxFE, I suppose) keeping the topic of Fire Emblem active, haha

Shout out Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. I was lucky enough to grab a copy a few months after its release.

I agree with Blazer here, its major hype period is over and unlike games like The Witcher or Mass Effect, the series doesn't have interconnection to the point where playing the other games to understand story is necessary, but playing the other games appeal to some people. It will sell more because new fans are appearing left and right because the marketing was so successful, it's plausible to occur, but I don't think it will happen from a market push. It's something that may or may not occur naturally.
