the easiest thing about baduk
mastering it
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY
I believe in judgment of humans through their judgment of fiction, for nothing else tells better of their disposition freed from apprehension.

Agreed. I learned as much as my father was willing to teach...and that was about it. I decided after that Xiangqi was way more fun....especially the offensive game you can get compared to standard chess. Cannons are the best units ever.

Now to learn Shogi sometime...it sounds like Chess but way less "queen bashing board" oriented.

I did, however, play its korean ripoff janggi as a kid a lot and liked it a lot more than baduk for sure

Shogi is soooooooo much fun. I'd love to learn xianqi sometime, I've just never gotten around to it. But yeah, once you learn the basics about shogi it's much better than western chess. |
Shogi is fun except for the "bring pieces back" rule. That screws me up so badly after I played a few games.
Chess is alright...it's just that the number of pawn walls and stalemates deployed are kind of depressing.
