If I have many generic units on one map, how do I differentiate between them when causing events to occur? For example, if I want to turn one generic enemy into an ally, how do I specify the one that I want?

As far as I'm aware, you can't. The code to change alignment doesn't allow coordinates as inputs, so you have to make an indicator character (presumably with otherwise identical stats) for the event assembler and game to recognize it.

Well there are different generic enemies. For example you could have everyone set to bandit except that one and have as theif or pirate or whatever else you find. And if you want the names all the same you can just use FEditor Adv to change it.
