So, I'm trying to figure out how to add a fourth lord to FE7, and I have two main possibilites, but each has its own problems.
One is to use Lyn and Lyn (tutorial) as different characters, which would work in all ways except for adding a personal weapon, due to both data sets for Lyn sharing the Manni Katti.
The other option in mind is to use Athos's data, which comes with its own weapon, but isn't classified as a lord.
So, does anybody know a quick way around either of these problems? Could I reset Forblaze's weapon lock to apply to tutorial Lyn or reclassify Athos as a lord? Anybody have a clue how to make that work?

Give a Character (or their new class, I don't remember which it was) the "Lord" ability. Prf weapon you're gonna have to either ASM it in (Few people know how to) or use the weapon levels to your advantage. I think the easiest way would be for you to give Athos the Lord ability since he already has a prf weapon.

Easy enough.
There's a spare weapon lock. Give the characters the lord ability. Make their death quote trigger a game over. To me, this doesn't seem like it's really that big an issue. I think you have the right idea. Just play with things and remember to make a back up.

what do you mean by a "lord" that's really just a class name :| you can make anyone a "lord" by changing their class using the Chapter Unit Editor or Event Assembler (the former is for small, quick edits, and the latter is for more complicated edits).
If you want their death to cause a game over, do what DH said (set their Death Quote event/trigger ID to 0x65). If you want them to be able to seize, I made an ASM hack to be able to do that but using it is a little bit complex; check the "Burning Hackery" thread for more info but again it's harder stuff so if you want more people to be able to seize that could be an issue without first learning more about hexadecimal and how to use a hex editor.

Sorry for taking so long to get back and thank you guys. I had to go cry over the fact that I was still asking sucky questions.
