Hey guys, I need your help with something, it's something I did on Gamefaqs a few years back but I think all the posts have been deleted.
This is self explanatory, You all rate the Character of the Day on a scale 1-10, but this series will have the ratings separated in four categories: Main Game, Postgame, Characterization, and Personal.
Main Game-This will address how well the character performs and contributes in the main story campaign.
Postgame-This will tackle how much usefulness characters have in the postgame/DLC content. Be it through being an active unit, supporting unit, or how good a parent the character can be for the 2nd gen. (This only applies to Fe:8)
Characterization-This will be how much you liked the character in the supports or story.
Personal- This category will be how how was YOUR experience with the character, like getting RNG Blessed or Screwed, the recruitment chapter they had, etc.
Day 1: Roy, Eliwood, Eirika
Day 2: Marcus, Marcus, Seth
Day 3: In Progress

Day 3: Alan
Main Game: 7
Very powerful once he starts landing doubles. Well balanced attack stats with a better spread than Lance.
Characterization: 2
There's personality? All I can remember is that he's a new recruit with a habit of charging in too quick.
Personal: 5
Right on the dot most of the time.
Fe:7
Day 3: Lowen
Main Game: 6
Reasonable cavalier pick. His offensive stats are a crapshoot, but he will be great asset with mobility and guarding the team. Great support options to go along with it.
Characterization: 6
Kind of an interesting guy. He's got a pathologically bad self esteem...and seemingly hates himself over everything. He's a good knight, a great cook, and, in most stories, will become the most famous knight (surpassing Marcus), yet berates himself over being a poor soldier. The reason he joins is also a pretty interesting story.
Personal: 5
That luck stat never looks as good as his growths indicate. Then again, his resistance is generally better.
Fe:8
Day 3: Franz
Main Game: 6
Great bases, good growths. Kind of fills the same unit base as Seth, so if you're scared of overpicking one unit type, it's easy to let go of him. A bit of a waste, but that's what happens when you put in Seth.
Characterization: 3
The most interesting side to him is his maturity. He's got an interesting side to him with that...but not much else.
Personal: 7
I typically play both Franz and Seth. The former has had great growths.

Day 3: Alan
Main Game: 8/10. Best paladin in the game, hands down. Lance starts with better speed, sure, but it's overkill and Alan will catch up.
Characterization: 2/10. I don't think he had any lines outside of his death quote....
Personal: 8/10. Never fails me.
Fe:7
Day 3: Lowen
Main Game: 5/10. Eh. Sain and Kent are way better. Lowen's offensive stats are pretty terrible. His defense is kinda nice, but if you want defense you might as well use Oswin.
Characterization: 5/10. Doesn't do too much, really. But he's okay. Has some decent supports with Marcus/Eliwood. I haven't used him too much to justify his personality though.
Personal: 5/10. Hit or miss. Sometimes he's godly, sometimes sucky. I once used him in HHM and he did okay, though.
Fe:8
Day 3: Franz
Main Game: 9/10. Yay, another Seth! His defense can be pretty awful but his offense is through the roof. He'll get the job done. Promote him early (~17ish) and he'll have very similar stats to Seth (with lots more speed). He's pretty much guaranteed to be your Vidofnir user.
Characterization: 6/10. I don't have much to say here, really. Standard knight in training (who happens to be a hell of a lot more competent than the other trained knights).
Personal: 9/10. Great character, never lets me down. Offensive powerhouse that can charge in with Seth and kill everything.

Alan(ce):
Main Game: 10/10. Perfect availability, high mobility, partial and then full WTC, great stats, and an actually viable support with the other best unit in the game make him great. He'll pretty much always be one of your top 3 units, and, other than Lance, no one else can claim that all game long. Which half of Alance is better really comes down to chance.
Characterization: 2/10, for having slightly more words than Shadow Dragon Roshea.
Personal: 10/10. He's been lucky on the SPD end for me, making him even better than usual, but I can't give him more than 10/10.
Lowen:
Main Game: 8/10. Great availability, WTC, and mobility make him pretty darn good. Unfortunately, his offensive stats are finnicky and if the RNG is even a little bad to him he'll be pretty mediocre offensively. He's (unnecessarily) tankier than your other cav options, which is nice, but doesn't really compare to how great Kent and Sain can be coming out of Lyn Mode.
Characterization: 6/10. I haven't read much of his characterization, but he was an interesting enough guy.
Personal: 6/10. As I said, if the RNG doesn't like him even a little, he can be pretty meh. My RNG is not his biggest fan.
Franz:
Main Game: 9/10. Assuming you play Sethless, he's the best unit in the game. He's got all the perks the other cavs have, plus a lot of EXP available to him, what with the early team only really having Eirika and himself worth funneling EXP into. He can promote very, very early and be an absolute monster who carries your team, basically becoming Seth half-way through the game.
Characterization: 4/10. I don't recall being very impressed by this fellow on the character end. He's too busy being Seth Jr. to bother with that, I guess.
Personal: 9.5/10. I've had both great and terrible Franzs. A great Franz is really great, while a bad one is still good, though, so it averages out to better than you'd typically expect of him.

I'm not very familiar with FE6, so I'll ignore Alan.
Lowen:
Main Game: 9/10. AWWWWW YEAH TANK ON WHEELS. His offensive skills are a bit bad, but weapon triangle control makes up for it.
Characterization: 7 Not bad. His lack of visual eyes in his sprite aid in his actual uniqueness as a playable unit, and I like his Rebecca support.
Personal: 9/10. DO YOU EVEN TANK BRO?
Franz:
Main Game: 6/10. Seth outclasses him hard. Despite that, he has very high usability and has stuff going for him.
Characterization: 2/10. lol wannabe Seth.
