I been looking at One Piece (one of Blazer's favorites) and I don't see the point of it, if you know why the thing came out, please tell me.

Its because the Author liked Pirates/Vikings

I personally like it, its funny fast paced and has good fights.

This needs to be moved to Anime/Manga...

People can do whatever they want. Producers of One Piece (Oda obviously) wanted to create an anime based off of pirates. He did so. What kind of point are you looking for? It's a show, the only point is for entertainment, it serves that well (as stated above by Seraphinox).

Not to be rude, but I don't really get your question. IMO it's not a very good one, at least. If you said "why do people like it?" I could answer that much better.

I enjoy it. I don't read it as much lately, but whatever. I agree with Seraphinox, you can ask that about just about anything.

I watched the anime once, but I never liked it so I don't read the manga.

I tried watching the anime once. And well. I stopped for three or four months. Since it came on every Friday and I started going out with friends more. One Friday I was home so I decided to see how much a missed. Not much, they were still on the same battle. :/

And that's why I don't watch One Piece.

You're not supposed to watch One Piece, you're supposed to read the manga

The anime is one of the like, top 20 or so. The manga is one of the top 3 and at one time was the best. If Narutard weren't so popular it'd just be Bleach and One Piece and then D-Grayman and then Naruto. :\

As Seraphinox said, the anime blows. Voice-acting is OK and many of the fight scenes are great and the openings are OK but it's also quite corny. The manga? I can't get enough of it, I freak out when there's a new chapter.

Oh, and if you're going to watch anime, watch Japense with subs. The english one blows, not only do they suck as far as new episodes coming out but the voice acting is *horrible* and the best fight scenes haven't happened yet. You'll get a horrible impression if you watch that, I watched OP on Cartoon Network once and I thought it was the dumbest corniest show ever (along with most other Cartoon Network/Toonami shows).

That explains a lot. Japanese anime is always better than english anime. But I still don't like One Piece. I may pick up a manga of it when I go to the library this weekend.

I wouldn't waste the effort when you can read it online and more importantly you can get a better view.

I would say "read 7-10 chapters" to see that you like it but that'd probably be hard, but if you don't you don't really get a good view on it.

I myself don't have an opinion on many anime/manga because I'm not familiar enough with them. :\

I'd read it, but I do not know what chapter directly follows the Skypeia arc, because that's where I left off.

Foxy was funny (lol, he gets depressed so easily) but Foxy is also creepy and weird. Definitely an interesting twist but not very epic. xP

One Piece was awesome. I used to watch it just to laugh at Monkey D. Lufey. I'm not sure thats how you spell that.

though the japanese verision was much better than the english. The blonde hair chef guy had a lollipop in the english. how manly is a lollipop. XD

Bump, cuz I have a question for all the One Piece fans.

What's your favorite arc? Mine'd definitely be Water 7/Enies Lobby. Going way back, I loved the Kuro arc too.
