So, I have been messing around with hacking FE7 for a bit, reading quite a lot from the ultimate tutorial here.

At some point I figured I'd replace Eliwood in chapter 11 with Lyn for no particular reason, and ran into the obvious problem that nobody is capable of seizing the village, making the chapter unwinnable.

Is it possible to change which characters are given a seize option? I haven't been able to find anything about it in the guide.

Well.... I'm not exactly sure how it works, I think the only thing you need to do is change something in the Character nightmare modules, but I'm not sure... Did you replace him with Lyn or Lyn_t?

There's a patch called the Multi-Seize hack that lets all the Lords seize.



There's a video, check it out and see if it's for you. The description has more info.

There's also a hack I made which lets you set who can seize in a specific chapter but it's a little harder to use, especially if you aren't familiar with hex editing (there's no .UPS patch for it IIRC due to how the ASM hack works).

I suppose I could use that patch as a workaround; it does get some extra seizing action done. On the other hand, I'd prefer to learn how it works myself. Then again, that sounds like quite advanced editing, which might be hard.

I think I'll be getting the "Multiple Seize by Table" Hack first, see how far I'll get with it. If I can't get it to work I can always take the easy way out and use the other one.

@Snow: I used non-tutorial Lyn.

No problem--the other one (by table) has the programming done for you already, so you don't have to know ASM or anything, but you do have to be able to copy/paste/write up new hex for you to use it, so it's still a little harder than normal. XP
