If it's the former, then Franz and Gilliam (since he's the only one to start as a Knight).
If it's the latter, then I include all possible Paladins, Great Knights and Generals, and then the two best units of those classes would easily be Seth and Franz.

and then also Cormag for personality...

The only knight you'll be getting is Gilliam unless you want to make Amelia a Knight... but I wouldn't recommend that. While Knights are pretty cool, their lack of mobility hinders them from what they are supposed to be: front walls. Make Amelia a Paladin if you ever use her.

but what Franz has over Seth are those extra 20 levels to level up. |
It's the other way around. Seth has 20 (19) levels over Franz. Seth already comes with 1900 Exp. For Franz to get to Lv 20/1, he also needs to gain 1900 Exp; Exp that others could've used as well. Seth is thus taking away less Exp from the team than Franz. Go Seth!

but you would want to make Franz a Great Knight instead, I think. |
Nah. Movement > Axes, I'd say. Movement gives more flexibility than axes, and I highly doubt that Franz is going to fare any worse without his axes.

Mind you, Seth over basically everyone in the entire game.

I was talking about leveling opportunities, not overall EXP gain but cool. More incentive to use Seth I guess

Great Knights aren't too terrible with their movement, but I see your point.

Even then, Franz needs to be something like Lv 18/0 to be equal to Lv ??/1 Seth, and the comparison will more likely be something like 18/0 Franz vs. ??/6 Seth, which means Seth is still winning, so Franz' levelling opportunities still don't give him an advantage over Seth.

As for me, I think Kyle is the best cavalier, and Gilliam as best knight. Though, Amelia serves well as a knight too.

I won't remove this until I get a killtacular in Halo MLG- Started December 29, 2010.

Just for the sake of it , I did a comparison.![]() ![]() |
That is very interesting. I wonder what IS was thinking to put in an uber character right from the start. Yeah, FE8 was my first Fire Emblem... and I even used Seth the most and all when I was playing it... I thought I was doing the wrong thing because he was "hogging exp" but I beat the whole game with just him. Imagine that...

Well.... Franz is faster? |
Even then, Seth usually doubles the majority of enemies that Franz does anyways. The usefulness of a character in-game determines "the best" in this case, not final stats.... although Seth still beats him in the long run. And what in the world? Seth even beats Franz in Luck? I usually thought Luck would go to the lesser of the two but I guess I was wrong...
In Creature Campaign, it's a COMPLETELY different story. Who knows... your EWAN may be better than, I don't know... Lute?

As for knight, Gilliam because he's just so damn useful. Too bad for SPD and RES though, but eh I like/use him anyways.

Or use two Generals and no mounted.

Also, to Wraith, my Ewan was always better than my Lute.
