I have to ask everyone. Out of respect for Blazer...Can you all please try your best to follow the rules?

And even if you don't feel like doing that, please refrain from derailing the TLP thread. If you know Blazer. You know how much TLP means to him. And I'm pretty sure you guys know how upset he can get over it.

So please, out of respect for Blazer...Try and be good. Okay?

Although...I know that some people will completely ignore this.

So we WILL need a new mod to keep things under control.

So. Who do you guys think it should be? Please. I ask that you be mature about this and not just go, "Me! Gimme mod powers NAO!" Who do you honestly believe is the best choice to be a mod?

And please don't pick someone who visits the forum once every 2 weeks.

Because Blazer was on nearly every day.

He didn't always stay online to chat, but he checked on things nearly every day.

And I know. I almost never go a whole day without being on this site. Even when I was in the hospital, I lurked.

So please. Be mature, and tell me. Who do you honestly think should be a mod? And please give me a reason why you think so.

Me and Ryoku will present the idea to Blazer and see if he approves.

I would be a terrible mod/admin, i've been one multiple times and the forums ended up dead, excellent mod candidate? I vote you Arri, actually, you're one of the more serious and active people of the forum. So...

To be honest, I don't think having a moderator at this time is mandatory seeing as we all have the ability to keep ourselves tame, but having one just in case that doesn't work out would be fine too, I guess. Obviously there will be those who won't be able to do such and absolutely have to take advantage of the situation, but I guess they will be the ones who wouldn't even be considered.

Given that I don't know / haven't talked to many people here, I don't know a person in particular that I think would be able to fit such a role without having a bout of immaturity or power abuse.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Like Arim said, be polite and act as though he was still here. I kind of have mod powers in the sense that I just text him everytime there is a problem on here (even the times that I myself got banned). He was VEEEEEEEEEEEEERY lenient on people and gave so many chances, so please, just don't **** up with his absence.

Also, @Solace. It might not be necessary, but it's needed in my opinion just in case we have a sudden outburst of chaos. Also, I think it kind of makes people more likely to behave when they know that consequences are right around the corner.

@Wolfie If you guys honestly believe that it should be me, then I promise I will do everything I can. Which reallly wouldn't be that much more considering I check just about every forum every day. And if I see people causing chaos, I usually DO say something. But I really don't want to, cause everyone will hate me for being so strict...Cause trust me. If I'm admin, I will be strict.

@Solace Well, out of the people that you do know, who do you think should be candidates? You don't show up often, but from when you were on, who do you know that would be a good candidate. I'd like everyone's opinion

@Ryoku Yes. I agree. Blazer was a very good admin. And he wasn't just a guy who we only saw when we were getting punished. And it would take a lot to get him to punish someone. He wasn't just the admin. He was a friend to most of us. And even the people he didn't like, he didn't just go "YOU'RE BANNED" without a legitimate reason.

@Matt That may be true, but other members may have different opinions. And I want to hear everyone's opinion.

It should be up to BBlues who becomes a new mod/admin, if he even has that power. I know he's an "admin" but not the owner *shrug*
Tho I'm almost sure he can do it. Until then he's the leading authority.

Bblues is already a mod though. We don't need a new owner. We just need someone to keep things under control while Blazer isn't here.

And to be honest, I think we need more mods. There are plenty of situations that flamed up REALLY quickly, and one that happened very recently that a mod didn't jump in at all. Not because they aren't good mods, but simply because they weren't there.

Should Bblues still be a mod? Of course. But I do think we need someone else. Because I don't want things going south.

EDIT: After looking through your comment again, I get what you mean. Should it be up to Bblues to decide instead of Blazer? I don't really mind that either. But I'd like to know who you think the new mod should be. Please Grey. I'd like to know everyone's opinion on this.

Thats what I said lol. He's an admin. I never questioned if he should stay an admin or not either. And you can't appoint a new owner anyway. The person who made the forum is the absolute authority and duplicates can't be made. That I know of.

And no I wasn't saying "Its up to BBlues instead of Blazer" I'm saying that its his choice period and that our nominations are just opinions lol.

I get that it's his decision. But I still would like to hear everyone's input.

EDIT: Or rather. I would like for everyone to give input. Make no mistake. I'm not trying to become a mod or anything. I'd REALLY prefer if someone else was chosen. But the only people I can think of, well, they're just not here as much anymore.

And well, I want this to be a discussion. I want everyone to honestly say who they think both (a would be a good mod and (b is actually here often. But I can't think of anyone off the top of my head. Which I why I want everyone to discuss what they think.

Okay, on the serious note:
- I don't have a deep understanding of this forum. I'm pretty tangentially connected to it. However, I do think that we should have a screening process to remove moderators who play a part in the "interior politics" of this forum. If a member seriously causes fissures in the forum, I'd vote that that person loses their right to even be considered.
- I do suggest that the person who becomes mod comes in neutral on most issues. Generally, I find these mods to be the most reasonable and the most rational when it comes to handling decisions
- I suggest a person of age. I found the older posters and "internet vets" are generally founded pretty well. Of course, given the age of users here, that'll be a bit tough
- I would also suggest a person who's got the respect of forum goers already. I would advise against someone who's floated with being banned a few times.
- Overall, I state it's a requirement to pick somebody who won't let their emotions control their decisions in moderator activity. I've a had run in with a few and most decisions they make I don't agree with. Spur of the moment bans and warnings hurt the integrity of the moderators and overall administration

If anybody else has a better understanding of users, this should be a good guide.

And I just realized what Axel said. Since I probably didn't make this clear enough. I'm not trying to get mod powers. I'd reaaaaally prefer it if someone else was picked. Although, if I AM picked. I will do the job.

I've been a bit inactive lately (quite a few things going on) but I'll be sure to stop by daily and try to give this forum some Bobryk-brand sexy.

Arim, I think you would make a solid mod. Except I fear you may not be able to always give a 100% objective opinion on things, given what I've seen you post in the past.

I'm not sure on others. I'll have to think on it. But rest assured that, whoever is chosen, I'll be here to support them!

Also, this forum better not die. I actually get a few sales from this place XD

I don't think heavily posting is a requirement. Being online and accessible is, but you don't need to be an active poster.

Quite honestly, the "best" moderator I have met fits this. On a sports forum, he doesn't discuss sports. He monitors it (mostly via the reporting feature because of the size of the forum), but doesn't post there often. Most of his posts (when he posts...he posts with infrequency) are discussing sci-fi, anime, video games...he's pretty much a nerd mod on a sports forum. Despite that, he probably has one of the highest approval ratings I've seen...the exception on the forum being the administrator.

In all honesty, I think you would make a good mod, if you were online more often. In fact, there's a lot of people I think would be good mods if they well, were more active.

And I'm not gonna lie. If I do become mod, will I be perfect? Of course not. But I assure that I will do everything I can. And if you guys doubt my dedication, just think about this. Even while I was in the hospital I still came online to check on things here.

Someone said we don't need a mod, but I don't think you get how serious this is. Blazer said he would shut this place down if things get too hectic.

This place is important to me. I visit the site every chance I get for a reason. I have friends here. This site has had an impact on my life. I do not want to see this place shut down. And I will try anything to prevent that from happening.

If I have to become mod, I'll try to keep everything under control. Will I be perfect? NO. But that's why you guys have to speak up. If you guys think I did something unfairly, frankly, I want you to tell me why you think it's unfair. Heck, even when I'm angry, I try not to ignore anyone. Granted yes, I may misinterpret a situation, but who says mods have to be perfect? And if I mess up. Just tell me.

If you frequent the forum, I'm pretty sure you know me. I visit the forum literally every chance I get. If I have access to internet and a computer, I will visit the forum. Because quite frankly, this is the community I'm a part of. So of course this place is important to me.
