Have you guys heard about this before?

The only possible things I can think of for DLC would be bonus characters, extra campaigns, or multiplayer maps. Maybe game modes.

Basically the DLC is paying for bad artwork of old characters. There are a few that look good, but WTF Micaiah.

In fact, Lyn is the only one that they didn't ruin, IMO.

I think Leaf, Alm, and Ephraim are good, too. Also, apparently there's a decent reason for Eirika to be wearing that dress, so I'm fine with hers. There's a good reason for Marth looking like he does, as well.

They made Ephraim look more epic than he already was in my opinion. Roy seems kind of odd looking to me. He just doesn't look like Roy anymore. Eirika looks like herself, but in a dress, so I'm fine with that.

Why does Ike look like he's directly ripped out of PoR?

Lyn certainly looks like herself.

Roy's art doesn't just "not look that much like him," it (like much of the DLC) treats his hair as his only identifying trait. It's like someone drew a bad cosplay in anime style. I mean, it beats Micaiah's, but I recall seeing that one described as something along the lines of someone finding Micaiah's dead body, cutting her head off, and then grafting it to a defective sex doll. However "cool" Roy's may be, it's just not Roy.

Compare this to this. I guess they both have headbands and sorta similar capes, except new Roy's cape comes out of his butt and it's faded and tattered. The headbands aren't even the same beyond having blue on them.

How did Roy look in Melee? We should use that as a general basis as well.

I just hope the DLC doesn't cost a bajillion dollars.

Quite honestly, they're taking advantage of the outside of Japan FE fanbase who didn't get to play FE12. :/

For those who weren't in touch with forums or the FE online community, they'd have no knowledge of the fan translation in the works. Hell I don't even know if Intelligent Systems know about it. They're probably assuming only Japan has played the previous games and had characters from older games to appeal to the long time Japanese fanbase while leaving them a mystery to the English fanbase that did not do proper research on older games. If they looked to be new characters, players that have not heard of them would be more willing to buy the DLC for said characters as a means of acquiring information. All in all DLC for a FIRE EMBLEM GAME, makes little to no sense. Hell if this was to be on the DS, I could almost guarantee that the DLC characters would be hacked in by some means. Although I doubt any reliable 3-DS emulator to exist for a long while, so that won't happen.

Well, it gives you postgame stuff to do and some nifty items in certain cases. I wouldn't bother with most of it, though, myself.

There are flashcards for the 3DS. They work fine too. :|

But, I have to agree. They are seeming to take an advantage. They may not have any knowledge of the large-ish amounts of FE6 translations. Most of the American fanebase only knows Roy from SSBMelee. Even then, some didn't ever play SSBMelee. Then they know very few... Your point... Is very valid.

DLC costs like, 300-500 yen. That roughly equals 3-5$ per DLC.

Not really expensive, though it will add up if you buy a lot of it.

$3 to 5 for a character and a map or two? Yeah, definitely not buying.

Eirika now randomly has a staff...?
and Roy doesn't look like Roy at all besides the cape and the hair. Still looks pretty cool though, but I have doubts about forking over 5 bucks per character.
At a dollar or two for each chapter, I'd consider it.

You pay, say $5 for one "DLC" chapter, and after completing it you can recruit the character. So no, you don't "pay for the characters"; you pay for the DLC chapter and can get them after it.

I get that, yes. That's why I'm considering it. There is no way I'm paying 5 bucks, even for Hector, if I don't get a good bit of gameplay with it.

This DLC is bullshit. Reggie and Iwata both said a game should come with all of the features and the consumer should not have to pay additionally to get the full game. And if you want to get all of the DLC chapters, you'll have to pay at least $30 and I'm already buying a 3DS solely for this game. I might as well just get it on ROM.
