Currently, I am watching Ayashi no Ceres, Trouble Chocolate, and Beelzebub--I just finished Ai Yori Aoshi. I've been watching more seinen and shojo lately than anything.

Anyways, I just started on Full Metal Alchemist, and it's OK . I think I might have spoiled all other anime for myself by watching TTGL :0

Sounds a little too weird for me. yes, I totally just judged a show by its name. If I didn't, I'd end up researching and watching way too many shows. XD
I've been meaning to watch FMA but there's that doubt in me, I've heard it's good but I'm too scared to try it and too curious to just give up on it. >_________>

Say, where are you guys watching your anime anyway? Now that megavideo no longer exists, I've been having problems watching anime.
Would someone happen to have a link to a website that still has anime up that wasn't nuked to hell after megavideo went down?

It is quite honestly the first show that I ever managed to fall asleep watching.
But that's my two cents. I'm a passionate mech fan and maybe the show isn't aimed for me. Not to mention going in with it hyped as the best show in existence or a life changing experience probably hurt my expectations.

I'm a big supporter of watching things via DVD and via legal YouTube videos. It sounds a little expensive, but I like to cherry pick and generally don't watch many shows anyways.

You should look it up. The name is just the name of the main mecha, and I think it sounds cool anyways >.>

Hell man I actually wanted to try to get into Gurren Lagann recently because of that one Youtube video that had Yoko in it. |
When I'm bored? That's actually what got me into it as well, lol.

Here's a
link to the first episode of Gurren Lagann on youtube which is in a playlist with the rest of the season. I'm watching FMA on some obscure site for Iphones lol. Like Iphoneanime or something.

Never been a fan of Gurren Lagann. I haven't seen it excel at anything people claim it has. It isn't a good action show, boring cut from cardboard characters (and ones which were done better in other series. Simon/Simone is pretty well covered in other shows better while Kamina exists in other shows better and in half the time), isn't that funny, isn't a deconstruction, and barely a reconstruction. It relies on fanservices from Yoko to carry itself through some segments and hopes you don't realize Kamina, the fan proclaimed best character ever, is a rehash of older characters. |
I haven't seen much anime, so maybe that helps, but I loved it. Kamina was such a badass person, his whole character was built around being a man, a true man, something every male strives for. Yoko was a lot of fan service, but she also had a reasonable part in the story, and it just wouldn't be the same if she had a different personality.
I know the series was meant as a sort of parody to what every other anime is, but something about it having everything good in it just made it epic. And the whole story of a boy fighting his way to save the universe, just using his willpower, is awesome.
Just my opinion as well, but lots of other people seem to agree with me

Youtube huh? Well It's a good place I suppose but I hadn't thought of it since well most are split into multiple parts and crap generally. Although it's nice to see this isn't one of those cases. XD Thank you for that.
When I'm Bored was the same youtube video that had Yoko in it that I was mentioning yes.
Well, now that I've watched the first episode, I now know the origin of the Kamina glasses meme. XD It looks like a pretty good anime though so I'll keep watching.
