Which sportsman is your idol? Doesn't have to be solely based for in-game performance, there personality is also important, or if they're philanthropists, etc.
I'll post mine after a few posts, as I can't make up my mind >_>.

Uh. Wally Szczerbiak. After that are other great players like Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Wilt Chamberlain, Micheal Jordan, Larry Bird, etc. |
Hm, yours are all basketball.
I'd pick...Roy Keane. Not the ideal role model, but he was a leader, and had his own skills. And a knack for strikes of vengeance.
Others would be: Michael Jordan, Ali (The boxer, can't spell first name >_>), David Beckham, Gazza, Lance Armstrong.

I like some of the people mentioned, but they aren't really role models. The only real role model is Wally. xD |
Oh, and why is that? Just curious as to why he's your role model.

Kings were good. Easily one of my top choices if I were playing a quick match on NBA Live (I wouldn't even mind doing a season with them considering how the Cavs sucked back when they were good).

Wilt Chamberlain was such a douchebag off the court. He was sort of a douchebag on the court too, refusing to play when he had 5 fouls so he wouldn't foul out. Hell of a good player. Terrible role model.
Jordan, Kobe, Bird, and LeBron are among my favorite players. They're OK role models. Not as bad as some, but not too great either.
Also, how is Szcerbiak your role model? Was it that one men's clothing commercial?

Ali was sort of like Wilt also. Pretty self-centered. Lance Armstrong I can agree with. That guy won what? Seven Tour de Frances AFTER he was diagnosed with cancer? Damn that's crazy.
For me, one of my idols is Magic Johnson. Even though I never saw him play live, I model my game after him. He made it fun to pass and not score all the time. He's a pretty good guy off the court too. He's been doing stuff and helping others with HIV (how he got it though... maybe not so role modelish lol).

um... in Basketball, you can only play until 5 fouls, you said he refused to play when he had 5 fouls, when if you have 5 fouls you can't play anymore anyways,
Moving on, I'd Say, that new Rams Receiver (Forgive me I forgot his name), He sorta made the Rams not AS bad as they really are, plus I am a Wide Receiver too. I like LeBron as Well, and The Cav's Ilgalskus (Spelling?) is tight too, my favorite Center in NBA, so as you can guess, if you play basketball, I play as the Cavs, and Follow them (No, I don't live in OR near Cleavland)

xDD@wally's commercial, how did you even know about that? Anyway, it's more of an inside joke than anything else, but Wally and I are similar, we can both shoot well (relatively well), both shoot free throws relatively well, and we're decent at everything else, only difference is I can ball-handle better than him (but like Wally I can have a hard time making decisions when it comes to "shoot/drive or pass it off").
Magic Johnson is an OK of a role model; overall I'd say he's pretty averaged out. Maybe didn't always make the best of decisions but had good intentions. You know him better than me, so I won't say as much. :\

In lower levels it is 5 fouls, so you are correct there. In NBA, however, it is 6 fouls.

Add to that the playtime difference as well (NBA = 12, International = 10)
