Alright, posting this kind of stuff is not my kind so be nice

No one want to rip Shadow Dragon sprites so ill do it myself! The problem is... im not a professional ripper and i cant find any tutorial, so i need some help... just some help! Oh and i use the emulator called No$gba. Thanks for the help!

FE11 portraits are ripped out. So are battle backgrounds. And I ripped out some miscellaneous stuff too. We just haven't ripped everything else. >_>

well, uh... there are several ways to rip stuff... one way is to just use an emulator like Desmume and show certain backgrounds, then do alt+print screen, put the screenshot of a frame in MS paint, and then take out whatever background or sprite you want. Desmume > no$GBA in many ways, the only thing that it is lacking in is speed (it often runs games a bit slow...).

The other way is to use hacking skills to decompress graphical files and rip the graphics like that. This can be easily done with some things (portraits, battle backgrounds, menu/misc backgrounds, map sprites, CGs, etc.) but for other things, can get annoying (battle animations and spell animations can't be easily ripped, anyhow).

So for BAs and SAs, I'd suggest taking a screenshot of an emulator every instant and collecting all the sprite frames together.

If the general idea doesn't make much sense to you, I don't blame you, it's not something a non-hacker or emulator guy would be really familiar with, although I admit it'll be hard to do anything without some background skills (which is why battle sprites and spell animations still haven't been ripped out, for the most part).

I'd write an in-depth tutorial on how to it, but I really don't think anyone would have the time or patience to actually follow the tutorial and rip the sprites. :\

Ok i downloaded desmune, but i dont find where can i see "decompress graphical files".

Im just trying to get the pirate class battle sprite for making a little gif

Cool. Dude, can you make a "layer" not appear in your game? Should be an option in video or the like, just disable layers 1, 2, 3... All layers until all there is in your screen is a pirate floating in the dark, then start to take screenshots.



Desmune doesn't decompress files like that, we have other programs in the hacking community which do that. Just play the game with some layers off, and you will get your desired sprite.

I know this, but i want to know how to stop the animation and then i rip the sprite and then i got to the next frame and again rip...

Simple, using DeSmuME, Ctrl+P pauses emulation, then you can use the "N" key to advance to the next frame whenever ready.

lol ^don't worry about it. Nobody has asked this question before so no one can blame you for not knowing how to do it. lol

btw, to clear this up, decompressing graphical files is more of a hacking thing, you can't do it with Desmume, but it IS another method to rip graphics. It's better just to use the method you are currently using though. MUCH easier. (the only problem is you have to be playing at the spot where you want to rip the graphics, so if you want to rip Medeus dragon, you have to have a save file at that place to rip it with Desmume... hopefully that made sense.)

Well, hope you managed it by now. Ripping is usually a tedious, albeit necessary job.
