Merc, your name change to Flareon was independent of the Pokemon thing (it happened before) and your original username was Mercenary, so you can either change back to Mercenary or keep Flareon, but you can't have another name change until 5 months.

It's STILL a part of the theme.
And 5 months is bullshit. It's not our (the members) fault that Kate spammed the hell out of the name change thing. You changed it to 6 months, and Kate isn't even around anymore. What's the point of that? Why should we be punished for something we didn't do, but rather, someone else who did who isn't even here anymore?
Then there's the fact that I started the whole thing. You blew it off saying I didn't start the whole thing, then said what you just said in that post above. Blazer, you contradict yourself so much its ridiculous.

You changed it before the theme started, that's a fact. Meaning it isn't exactly part of the theme since it (the name change) already happened before it started.
Since it started before the theme it would count as those once in 6 months name changes so basically.. you should be happy that you get to choose between Flareon or your old one, Mercenary.
And really, it's just a name don't freak out over it so much. Neither blame other people!

The theme started because of me. That alone is enough reason for me to warrant being able to change.

I don't see the contradiction, I'd appreciate if you could point that out.
It wasn't part of the theme. The original theme was 'names of main characters in the Pokemon manga', this was Aaron's idea. I extended that to 'main series video game names and characters' so that more people could be in on the gag. Flareon is a pocket monster, not a person. And it was done before the theme. So no, it wasn't part of the theme. It was completely coincidence that like a week before the gag you had changed your name to something Pokemon-related, but it still didn't fit in with the theme. If someone had asked me "can I be changed to Charizard" as part of the gag, I'd say no, that didn't fit with the theme. I didn't even let one person change to 'Time' (because it was based off of a spinoff/side game, not one of the main series games). :\
I had it set as one of your name changes every 6 months, not one of the name changes as a forum gag where it didn't count towards that. And that's totally fair as it is. It'd be unfair if I let you change your name again and didn't make exceptions for other people. :\

I didn't punish anyone just because like forever ago Kate spammed the name change thing. I took out the item because of her, yes. I made it 6 months because things get way out of hand when people are allowed to change their name so much. I say '6 months' but I'm not going to count the days until people can change their name, the point is that people don't get so obsessed with name changes, confuse other members, and annoy other members.
Plus there isn't anyone on the forum that is mature, active, and willing enough to admin on the forum (you could argue I'm not mature or active enough sometimes) so in order to not get name change requests every day I set it slightly longer. As said, if I added a name changing item it could get totally out of hand.
Add another admin? No one is suited.

(Already explained why it's not part of the theme, and that you didn't start it, no matter how much you stretch the circumstances). No, you don't deserve the name change, especially after being so rude to me.

Oh, guys, I'm pretty sure you know this, but if you don't like one of the rules, I'm much more likely to change it if you make a nice post in Site Discussion that isn't rude or offensive and state good reasons why you think it should be changed. Then you just get some other people to support you and if it's reasonable, I'll change it.
It's almost like a democracy. You the people say what you want but I make a veto if I really need to. But if you guys pull a riot on me and start acting bitchy, I give in and pass the bill. XD

I'm willing to change it to 4 months. Anything below that gets annoying though, because there are members who like to change their name so often. Plus I let you guys change back to your name if you just feel like changing your name for a couple weeks or something. There are forums where you can't change your username at all, or where it is only allowed every year. If 6 months is a bit too much then get back to me with a new topic with a less angry tone and we'll see what we change it to (3 or 4 months probably).
IF ANYONE STILL NEEDS THEIR USERNAME CHANGED BACK FROM THE POKEMON THEME, PLEASE PRIVATE MESSAGE ME AND I WILL CHANGE IT AS SOON AS I CAN. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
