being a massif noob at these things, i don't have any idea where to begin, what i should already know, what tools i'll need etc.
for a first time what should i expect as a result?

note: i'm not very literate in any computer code stuff... would that be a good place to start? can anyone show me where i could learn such stuff?

thanks to everyone who even bothered to read the rantings of a new noob, and further thanks to anyone who can actively help / offer any advice / pity me biggrin.gif

also, is this ok as far as starting new topics goes?

edit: was this the right place to post this? i followed some links to do with learning how to edit fe and ended up here

Actually, no, that was not the right place to put it. I moved it to the correct forum, that being the "Fire Emblem Editing" one xD.

I highly suggest using correct spelling/capitalzation/punctuation, or people like Tino*cough* may not pay attention to you.

On your question, however, I suggest you look in this topic: http://forums.feshri...p?showtopic=212

Then get a tutor to help you learn the ropes.

Hope you learn what you want to know~

I reccomend you start with nightmare, as it is easy to use and works in fe language, not computer language. You may not understand how to use it, but a hex editor is also useful.

Another good place to start from is here:

If you don't understand hex, this guide will help you learn some essential things about hexadecimal and Fire Emblem.

Yeah, Nightmare Modules can be found around this forum as well as other things. For text you can either use Xeld's editor found here or the text editing suites found in the Resources forum.

There's also the UT which the first few chapters covers some basics including vocab that you should probably understand. http://www.feshrine....timatetutorial/

You should also just experiment with Nightmare and the such. If you have any questions, just make one topic for all your questions and we'll try and help you as much as possible, since you can't learn everything by tutorials/guides and the such.

Good luck!
