Utilities (sp?) for FE7
#1

I lost all stuff that is needed for hacking but found some on this site again (thanks!) this is what I still miss:
Mappy <------ Got it thanks to cox21
Hex editor <---- Got one now, thanks Blazer (HxD I use now)
TileSet for mappy <------ Got it thanks to cox21
What I have:
UPS patcher
Nightmare and roms
Text editing (fe7, don't need fe8 one yet)
The program nightmare itself.
I am pretty sure I need WAY more then that I have but I can only remember those so help is greatly appreciated. I will search for mappy again but I need to be sure if HxD was a good one before I download it.
I copied and pasted everything from the Need a tutor thread except the part for mappy.
Thanks to anyone who will help me

I downloaded both Mappy and the tilesets, but when I try to make a map, it asks for dimensions (which I give and it is happy with), but then it says to import tiles, and I have tries to do this but I must be doing something wrong. What could I possibly be doing?
Or if it's easier, what should I be doing?
Thanks to anyone who can help
edit: Actually, forget that - I managed to make it work... BUT, is it possible to mix and match between sets (eg. if I wanted to make an outdoors level with mountains but also with an indoor building or two?)
If so please direct me accordingly.
Many thanks
You know what? I'm failing then succeeding then failing then succeeding...

I used the "Import At" function to combine some sets - is this the right thing to do?
Finally, if it isn't is there a better way?
And how can I tell what graphic is the one that I want?
I promise this is my last question for this week (I'm going on holiday!)
I may not see any reply until I come home in a week.
Thanks to everyone

once you create a new map you have to go File->Import and select one tileset and unfortunately you can only use that one tileset. If this is your first time at a map I would definitely recommend just doing a test map and trying to insert that, if you can insert a simple test map then you know you can do the same things to insert any map.

To the best of your knowledge, are there any mixed tile sets out there on known sites (I searched on google for a bit, but found nothing [damn you, google...])?

One more thing, as a beginner would it be better for me to use Cygnus or Nintenlord’s MAR Array Inserter? And does anyone have a link to those off-hand?
I feel like a massive nuisance

They aren't easy to rip but in any case I told somebody else how to rip them and I helped them and they learned how to and they made a set of them, hold on, getting link... Got it. What's with the tilesets??? All they are are long thin strips. How do you use those???

You cannot do File-> import twice and try and load more than one tileset or when you insert it into the game the game will **** up and all your work will be for nothing. D: THat'd really suck right?
To know what kind of tileset is each thing I'd say you just have to load the tileset in Mappy and look at it in mappy.
Mappy can be found with FE7 tilesets or just google it, the full program is called "Mappy Map Editor" IIRC.
Anymore questions just ask.
