for really dumb reasons and if you want to know why the forum is inactive is because poeple leave thus decreasing discussion and then other people see the lack of discussion and want to leave to... :\

I'm going to Missouri (>_> I'm going to try and avoid those dang hicks) over the weekend. I might be back Monday but then again Monday I'll probably end up doing HW. I do not have school tomorrow (Friday) or Monday and saturday and sunday are off as usual so my parents are going to ruin my one chance to catch up on computer things and go on a trip.

If people would not leave and constantly lose interest just because a few others leave this kinda stuff wouldn't happen...

If the loyal members start to leave then it makes others weak and the forum starts to go down and it leaves no time to let the forum get back to normal. Which is why people shouldn't leave after a week of downness. >_>

I love their accents. Anyways have a wonderful time there. Regarding everyone leaving I won't be leaving unless one of two things happen. One, I somehow get caught on my itouch, or two, I get majorly pissed at someone.

Hmm, I'm going to prepare myself for a flame war by saying this, and before you bust out the ban hammer remember you allowed a member of your own staff team to say something akin to this at least twice on this forum. So

Why should I join stay?

And before someone makes it personal leading to a never ending spiral of flames, I mean "I" as in the general member base (as your staff member did I assume) And maybe you'll start saying I'm trolling, but I honestly would like to know, what does FESh offer that other (even just born) forums doesn't? I mean, there are alot of forums out there, possibly more appealing ones to those who have lost interest in FE.

Also, while unrelated calling the reasoning of the departed "dumb" isn't a very good move, but hey it's your forum :/

Should also mention school is a major factor in your inactivity, once the holdiays start you'll find a few people come crawling back xD

Of course school is a factor, I know that very well, it's not like my forum is the only one that has decreased in activity. XD

I don't think the question is such a bad question as long as you word it right. I mean "Who the hell are you son of a---" is more offensive than "May I ask for your name?" or just plain "what's your name?" (with a nice tone).

Anyway

- Mainsite, many forums don't have one. Simply the existence is something and it does have some content contrary to what people think. It also has some unique content (like the hacking, sheetmusic, mugen, & video sections, and if I weren't busy I'd add more)

- Unique member database. Some people here you won't see active on other forums and if they are they come from various different forums (or vice-versa, they started here and THEN joined other forums)

- Active forum that has been around for a long time-- 40,000+ posts ATM, a few hundred members, there's something for you.

- Shoutbox-- not all forums have these.

- Hacking stuff, which is quite an influence and a good way to get members really

- A lot of time put into adding various features and making skins, I'm not using most of the default sections

- Various things to discuss, not limited to Fire Emblem, while still representing Fire Emblem-- missing some aspects of this like debating, tiers, and other more "intense" discussion (for lack of a better phrase), which is why places like SF are more successful (one of the reasons, anyway)

- Good GFX, if a site doesn't have good graphics then people aren't going to be so interested.

- Unique name. Using names that have already been used before or stealing them is bleh. Like "Fire Emblem World" or "Fire Emblem Online". Just for example.

- Forum hack led by me. That's incentive to stay and post a bit.

- Member icons and "levels", also incentive to post.

- Friendly members who are welcoming and like to have fun like everyone else

- Rules and staff are not as strict as most others, despite what people think. I've let a LOT of things go that I probably shouldn't have. Also, because during our peak of activity we're a moderate community, this means we are not flooded with quantity of members where you don't know everyone and it's confusing and you lose a little bit of your 'individuality'-- On GameFAQs, Smashboards, or some other major forum, it's hard to make yourself important or anything. You're just another average member going there for the sole purpose of discussion about video games (or some specific game), with exceptions. I don't know if I got this point down very well, it's quite hard to explain and grasp.

Hmm first thing I need to say is please warn me before this gets out of hand since I'm going to go all out "bi***y" here/

Firstly I'm impressed that you could make a post that long, and that you responded maturely and properly. So a "thank you" would be appropriate from me here. However...

Mainsite: After taking a quick look around on it, I won't deny there's content, but it's FE content (duh) and as stated previously pretty useless/boring for those who have pretty much lost interest anyway. And while having a mainsite is positive, it hardly adds to the value to each inidividual member if they don't use/care for, it.

Unique Member Base: Not really a "Pro" I think, I mean, on the flipside this place doesn't have alot of great members that exist on other minor FE forums, so that sort of balances it out.

Active forum with lots of posts: It's active? *Takes another look at the thread title* jk. Having lots of posts doesn't really mean much I think, I mean, only current topics usually get read anyway, and new members aren't likely to go through every old post when they can't reply in it due to necroposting.

Shoutbox: Well a nice addition, but a common one, I kind of seeing a no-shoutbox forum as inferior, rather then seeing those with shoutbox's to be special in some way.

Hacking: Only relevant to those interested in hacking. Useful if you want to attempt a hack, but members here are pretty much demand/request, then flee xD

Various Skins: Interesting, Never noticed there was several skins, but a nice minor addition, nothing important.

Various things to discuss: Hmm I don't know, considering the RP section is usually dead and the art section is pretty much restricted to gallery updates and response, FE section is useless to those who have lost interest in FE, leaving only General discussion, which isn't always booming, but a semi-valid point I guess.

GFX: Well if they have bad crappy GFX your right, but "good" gfx isn't neccessary for a active forum I think, I hate to admit it but look at PE's horror. On second thought don't, your eyes don't deserve the punishment

Forum Hack: Okay, who's still participating? What stage of the hack are you up to, have you encouraged members to stick with the hack or have you kind of left it to deal with itself lately? Since I asked on the forum and no one seemed to know what was happening with it, (Seraph sent out a mass email/pm or something after I whined to him about it I think) but these things sort of need constant pushing xD

Member icons: I admit is a minor (which is important since there's crap all major implementation you could add) addition which is quite good in my opinion, Moreso the icons then the titles.

Friendly members: Eh I don't agree, it's something you want to say in advertising, not something you won't to promote to your current members xD I mean, this place isn't that much friendlier then most other places online and selling yourself on friendly members isn't a good idea IMO

Leninent Rules: I know, it's the reason I'm still here (In terms of choice, and in terms of "I'm not banned yet") It's not so much an issue of being lenient, but choosing to apply the rules under the appropriate conditions, I mean I've known forums which have a "no advertising rule"
where a member was banned for supplying the link to photobucket. >_> (For a spriting event on the forum). (Technically it is advertising, just not the original intentions of the rule I think.

Responding to each one, I'll admit this place has several positive aspects which are appealing, and while they're all small, the only "big" change you could add is an active memberbase, which is more up to the members then staff.
