I voted Lowen. He's a tank for a Cavalier --> Paladin.
Also if you don't play thorugh Lyn mode Sain and Kent start off kinda bad and Lowen has a few levels up on them. That is if you don't play Lyn mode and if you did, then the leveling would be switched.

I went for Kent, but I'm even with him/Sain. But Kent has a sword AND a lance at all times. Points for him there.

Yes, Kent starts with a sword. Yes you get Lowen earlier without Lyn mode. However. Kent is a know-itall and Lowen has yellow armor.

Because trading is very hard to do in FE7 ? It's easy to trade the sword of Kent to Sain. Since I doubt you will use both.
I vote for Sain :]
He was really usefull for me.
But I still don't like paladins

Because they move faster than your team. Near the end they're moreso support than attack or defense so. Paladins are just good at the beginning.

Yes bad caps equal bad units. For being a horse unit, their speed cap is exactly or close to a general's speed cap. / :

Yes, but their utility saves them from uselessness. I'm not saying they're the best units, but they're definetely not the worst across the game.

Healers are probably the worst. But hey, Paladins rank two cavaliers until promotion, then you promote your better one and replace the other with a more useful character. Bam. That's paladins.

Uhm I know this isn't the right thread but I have to disagree.
Healers are the worst class, BUT after they promote they can own since they get magic to use and healing which is very usefull in your team. Especially with a Physic staff. Since healers or any magic users don't have much physical defence.
Archers aren't the worst class. They attack from far and can dodge quite a lot, especially after promotion. I hated archers at first but you have to give them a chance
They also have a high hit rate, without promoting of course. Only problem is that they can't attack from close range. Well sure that is a disadvantage but they can still damage and double enemies and with enough strenght or a well weakened enemy then he can kill as well.
Oh and healers can't counterattack and die like REALLY FAST. Unlike archers, they can take a hit or dodge them.
Although I have to say this also: In the end, it is our own opinion. So I am wrong and you are as well. I am right but you are as well.
To atleast say something on-topic..

I said it before but he can really own.If I had still used him after he promoted he could become a good unit.

You are completely wrong, you must be a terrible tactician if you leave your healers in range of enemies.
Archers can counterattack?? My ass, archers kill one enemy max on their turn and if they're lucky another on the opponents turn, ever notice how they can't melee fight?
Your archer gets surrounded, BAM dead!.
Healers are meant for HEALING not fighting and without them you would be a lot less durable, they also greatly help the exp Rank.

Much greater then crappy archers, give a Cavalier a Javelin and then I have a unit that can attack from both near and far
