Once, I was a member on a Forum. It had guest posting enabled. Guests started abusing it, but no one thought to disable guest posting. Eventually, every younger member of the forum had to leave due to the porn being posted, and parents seeing it. One day, a year later, we had lost ~30 members. At least. Three of which were Staff. Three replacements were added. I was made a Global Mod, who, secretly had ACP access, and two others were made Admins. The second I got my hands into that ACP, I turned off guest posting. What is the point of this story? WHY is this in Site Discussion? Because, the morale of the story is, do not enable guest posting. On forum sections, or, more related to here, shoutboxes alike. Please turn it off..

And while I am suggesting things, let us have slightly larger avatars?

I don't know why guests are able to shout in the shoutbox, since guests posting there is disabled... I might look into it later, since I have to go in a couple of minutes. As for the avatars... 100x100 should be fine, no? It doesn't matter for me anyway, since I don't view avatars and signatures (I configured my settings like that tongue.gif)

Well, 100 x 100 is fine for most things, but my avatar looks really stupid when it's scaled down like that, and I really don't want to go to the trouble of finding a decent image that would look good so small.

You won't get any bigger than 100x100. Avatars taking up half the screen are annoying (half the screen is a huge understatement, obviously, but you get the point).

I agree with that. Small avatars are better than clogging a screen up with larger ones.

Agreeing is OK, as long as he doesn't agree multiple times. After all he's still putting in his input and supporting it. smile.gif

Nonetheless I don't know what's wrong with the shoutbox. I disabled guests viewing it as well. And I am always against guest posting unless it is in a guest-specific forum (in which admins also have access too just for the sake of making sure nothing bad happens in that forum).

Lol, sorry, I'm not feeling well.

Guest posting should be off (I thought it was?) as it could cause large amounts of spam.

Large avatars are uneccesary, as they get in the way and wreck loading time(personally speaking, I'm on dial-up remember.)

*nods* on the topic of avatars, I could've sworn I set limits, the limits should be so that the mini-profiles on the left-hand-side do not "stretch", otherise it makes the forum look not-as-good.
