For stat sheets, the back of the statsheet in FE8 involves only a single image. And one other image for the small shinny thing on top of the sheet. 4 palettes for the image in the back, and one palette for the shinny thing.

For FE7, the rolling image is a single one, the same as in the menu. And it can be different if you change the right pointer like Rex did. The frame which goes around the text is actually a moving image, and in theory it still exists in the FE8 model(Even though in FE8 they made that layer become the shinny thingie layer, so importing it would take a while. The tiles are still loaded, however, even in FE8...for sheer laziness I take it. ...in theory you could do something with them I guess. XP)

Also for Battle Templates, 16 colors on each side, including colors for all texts but hit/dmg/crit and HP bars and numbers. Also, FE8 has a bit more space than FE7, both are made of 5 images, and with a limit of say...50? tiles in average in the whole thing, if memory doesn't fail me(Most likely it does)

Inserting one is(Rey can tell you this as well out of experience) a very tiring and demanding job, unless you only plan in a small change of the current model. But something as extensive as the one Lord Glenn has(Sorry, dude. sad.gif) will have to go in the hard way, which is demanding.

Also, about a guide, I will indeed consider. ...specially after my guinea-p...err, Rey, had a successful experience with my technique, I might compile it soon enough. It is a pretty cool thing to have in a hack, if you ask me. :3

Is it possible to write a tutorial on Zahlman's "Song Editor 0.30"? I can figure it out, but its taking me way too long, and I just want a better feeling of what I just need to understand.

Fighting the ghosts of my past. I'd rather not remember who I once used to be..

Just a heads-up. I've finished writing the tutorial. However, I'm writing some other tutorials while I'm at it (it's all part of one massive tutorial that is going to be a 100 pages) so I'm going to wait to release it. If you're in a rush to figure out the Song Editor though, just let me know and I'd be glad to send you the tutorial until I release it publicly. happy.gif

I wanted to make a custom animation so i took a 16 color sprite and placed it in the
animation debug folder in the "standing 1" file.

now i expected this to work cause all i'm changing is the img in the file but apparently
it says that there was an error.

can anyone help me with this?

Blazer's Ultimate Tutorial V.2 is going to have chapters on it. (At least, that's why I think those empty chapters are there and are titled "Inserting Your Animation", etc.)

So I'd suggest waiting for that. It's what I'm doing.

However:

Okay, I will try and do that when I get back from my trip, thanks for the heads-up. That ZSE tutorial is indeed pretty outdated. this also means I have to figure out how to use the new versions though

Video tutorials are pretty rare but there are some on portraits and events and patching, almost anything else doesn't have a (recent) video tutorial on it.

If you have specific requests I can make some video tutorials.

Meh, I don't use Sappy to insert music. It's just not my program of choice. Otherwise I'd do it. D:
