What song do you listen to when you know you have to get something done, and for that you just need that one or more songs?

For me it's the whole of Daft Punks Alive 2007 album.

THE PRIME TIME OF YOUR LIFE

failing that, it's either The Discovery album by Born of Osiris, or From Dusk Till Dawn by ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D

If all else fails, random songs that I like, none of which I can remember right at this moment.

to be honest

music never works for me for this purpose

>_>

only relevant thing I can think of that makes me FEEL more active (even if i'm just procrastinating as much as usual, often because i'm listening to songs anyway) are those songs that just get you excited for violence like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kVNlKY-4v0

and listening to those for too long kind of tires me out which makes me feel like being less productive in the end x:

Honestly, I don't usually listen to music when I'm being productive. I find that switching songs and such tends to be more distracting, haha. If I do listen to music, I usually just listen to whatever I feel like, maybe some extended song on youtube that I can just forget is playing eventually and hum to (like Bearer of Hope from FE lol). If the music is lyrical it also makes it harder because you can't extend those easily and I'm more likely to be distracted by the lyrics or something.

One thing I'll say though is that when I'm out and about I need to boost my confidence a little bit, I listen to Déjà vu, a song from The World Ends With You that just gets me pumped and puts that kick in my stride that I sometimes don't have otherwise. I dunno why, but it just does that to me. It's not something that can really be explained, I don't think.

I have the composer's curse. I'd just focus too much on the arrangement I'm listening too. Listening to a song that sucks is even worse.

Daft Punk's Discovery and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon are what I'll put on around essay time, sometimes some other stuff or mixes of tracks, but normally those two.

For stuff like the treadmill, I'll bust out deadmau5, David Guetta, that sort of stuff, and some classic rock.

Oh yeah, and Danza Kuduro. Gotta have a bit of Danza Kuduro.

My girlfriend lived in France all of last year for college abroad, Danza Kuduro is all they listened to... She knows every lyric, and bursts into dance if it comes on

Edit: Also, Discovery **** yeah!

I usually just play Mumford & Sons stuff when I want to block out the rest of the world. It's not unpleasant to listen to, but it all sounds the same and just sort of blends together, so it isn't distracting. It works really well to help me focus.

The ones I use a lot are mainly this, but also this, this, and this, and surprisingly, some MLP-themed songs- this and this. That's not to mention Rujio and Boney's songs, which are all pretty darn good. All of the above songs seem to work pretty well for me. Of course, I just really like those songs, especially the instrumental ones, so they're kind of excuses for me to listen to them while doing other things- which is quite alright, in my book.

Also, I read somewhere that good productivity songs are also songs that you would work out to, so I suppose that some of mine would be this, this, and pretty much anything off of the OSTs of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Discord. Then again, I listen to any random song on my music library while working out, and it's extremely varied to the point of not having any common themes or genres, so that's probably not ideal.

Just about anything, really, though TWEWY's OST is a favorite.
Also, a lot of OCRemix arrangements. This one's great:

Hm... My productivity depends on what I'm working on. Say I'm making an FE hack, I'll listen to the coolest FE music I can find.

Same goes to most other things. But, if I'm working on chores, homework, etc. pretty much anything OCremix gets me going.

Got Pokemon X/Y or OR/AS? Battle me! Or trade with me... Trading is cool too.

Hmm, a lot of replies in this thread seem to not enjoy music when working/doing something

I find this very odd. I usually can't work without music.

Depends on the situation I guess, if I'm studying I only listen to Acoustic/Instrumental so that lyrics and singing don't distract me.

But everything else it's music GO

Well in certain cases my work already has music to it (*cough*hacking*cough*)

But other times it's just a matter of time-consuming in that it takes time to set up music and stuff so it kind of decreases my productivity there even though it should help me and stuff XP
