Do you like it? What games have you played, if any? This is probably my favorite game series of all time. Locke Cole <3 |
Same for it being my fave series. It was my first series as well. FF7 was my first, and story-wise it was good, but it is always overrated. FF6=FF7 for me overall. With FF6 edging a bit.
I personally found Setzer (spelling?) my favourite.

I think that after playing FF games for almost 10 years, I can honestly say I'm sick of it. It was good when I was young, but now I realize that the game mechanics themselves suck so horribly, that people are blinded by the story to notice it. If you go back and play FF7 or 8 again, you will see what I mean. |
FF7 & 8 had good ideas(materia and GFs), which allowed the game to be more customizable than previous ones. I personally still enjoy them, and the storyline in FF8 alone makes it worth a play.

I have played Final Fantasy 10. Amazing game, with virtulally no flaws. |
FF10 actually hits closer to what I mean by the gameplay mechanics. FF has gotten into a bad habit of giving ALL of its bosses stupidly high amount of HP, and either making your characters over-powered (FF10), or doing the work for you (FF12).
I can go into insane detail about why I hate FF10, and I even wrote a troll review about FF10 to piss off someone who had decided to make me mad, but I don't think Blazer or Sothe would like me posting it. It really makes me think of FE8 in respect to where it stands in the series.
FF7 and FF8 had amazing story, and FF12 brought back the customization. FF9 didn't have the customization, but my oh my was it FUN. My cousin and I would set two-player and stay up all night just playing our brains out.

FF10 I didn't like for some odd reason.. >_> It just wasn't that fun. |
Maybe it was the fact that in the first FF game with voices, they screwed it up and made it so the main char would NEVER be addressed by name, thus detaching you from the Roleplaying experience? Or maybe it was that ****head Seymour.

Me? Why would I care? Blazer might not like it, but I found that review funny as hell when you showed it to me, lol. And, yeah, FF10 sucks.

I know. It's stupid, no? It takes 6 hours at the least. And he halves your damage at some point.
