What Character do you HATE recruiting?

I wanna hear what you guys say.
I ****ing hate Douglas from Fe:6, especially on Hard Mode, he just makes an already annoying chapter that much more painful.
Cath from fe:6 as well, I really like her character, and the lines she speaks when she appears into every new castle, but if I could just recruit her earlier I might use her...
Shinon from Fe:9 brings up annoying memories, just because it meant training Rolf. If you didn't train Rolf it became nearly impossible.
Karla for a lot of people I'd say. (Especially Bobryk)

I remember re-recruiting Wallace being a nuisance the first time I ever played FE.

What character do you really hate recruiting in Fire Emblem. Can be anybody at all? Karla for a lot of people I'd say. (Especially Bobryk) |
Woop woop! Training Bartre is awful. Douglas sucks to recruit too. You don't need to train Rolf to get Shinon, btw. Just lure him over with someone else and have him talk. You do need a trained Ike, but that's not so bad, right?
Others: Xavier, Jaffar (HHM), Aira.

Welcome to a wholly luck based mission. Or just accept that you can recruit Ena instead. But if you want buddy up there, you could be doing the same mission for a long time.

Not that I hate her character, but she was a pain in the arse to recruit.

I believe in judgment of humans through their judgment of fiction, for nothing else tells better of their disposition freed from apprehension.

A lot of characters that got mentioned in here, I also hated needing to recruit.
A character for me that I really hated to get was Jaffar. I really hated that chapter man especially the first run through. Like there's fog of war everywhere and you can't see anything. There's even doors that limit your progress at the start and bottleneck the AI into swarming the first person that steps a foot outside of the door. lol The damned boss is a Valk and Fire Emblem has a habit of not really preparing you to face magic users as potential threats until it's late because of bad pacing so all of sudden you're expected to somehow handle bolting spells. Like wtf. lol
That entire chapter is ass. First you have to worry about protecting Nino, and then you have to worry about the damned like 14 year old prince that gets owned by seemingly endless waves of reinforcements when again YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING, then there's chests that you totally want to get your hands on because I swear two important things are in them, like the anti arrow shield for fliers and the +2 movement consumable boots, IN THIS MAP OF ALL PLACES. LIKE PLEASE. Then you have to worry about Jaffar not getting owned by RNG, and he never has the common sense to ever stay on a pillar for defensive benefits at all, hell no why would he want to do that. Then we can't forget his weapon only has 20 uses so if you take too long, he'll be unable to protect himself. So with all of this going on, you STILL have to baby sit Nino and drag her over to wherever Jaffar's damned AI moves him. I don't even think you control Nino either, you have to haul a FIVE MOVEMENT lord over to talk to her, so someone's gotta suffer stat penalties to rescue the sorry ass lord over to Nino.
Even the extra chapter that follows that you get Jaffar in is super annoying with the stupid platforms that disappear. UGH.

There's only one correct answer though.
Stefan, the character that you have to stand on one specific square on an annoyingly large desert level with one of a small handful of specific units to actually recruit. Basically, unless you're reading a guide/GameFAQs/whatever, you're not going to unlock him in the first place.

I kinda always regarded Stefan as that hidden character that the developers had no intention of you to find realistically but left in there for those that literally searched every square of the desert for items. lol I mean he even had the S rank tier sword right? So maybe on like after the first play through, or later in you could be discussing with a friend and find out about it that way. Doesn't really fit the difficult bill to me, but I know where you're coming from.

I can relate to this LOL they're always chillin' on the enemy side or ready to whoop you or something and you've got to treat them like such a serious threat (because they kind of are)
I personally don't like recruiting pretty much all of the children in Awakening. If I actually properly recruited them, maybe I'd say Pelleas and Lehran (I think that's his name) in FE10 lol
ugh I feel like there are others but I can't actually call back to those experiences, so I'm going to leave it at that ;

Can we be meta and mention hard to recruit TLP characters?
Yeah I can get behind most myrm's being annoying. Rutger's super strong and is a little difficult to get unless you know what you're doing. Guy's in a similar boat on account of the map location, but he only moves on hard mode (IIRC) Marisa requires like Ewan or something I forget in Emph's route, and in Eirika's, you need to rush to recruit like everyone that were NPC's before you got her and she moves. lol There's also Joshua as well who's also annoying and you have to worry about the bandits getting to the village and recruiting him at the same time.
In FE9 they just basically give you Mia, but uhh... damn what's his name again? The Laguz sympathizer is oddly placed since you have to avoid the vigillanties if you wanted bonus exp and the damned black knight shows up near his movement range and makes moving across that side of the map as him tedious.
Hell if I can remember shadowdragon lol
In Awakening, Say'ri's in a rather annoying spot to rescue and I still wish they gave her more supports, but she's a decent character to use if you wanted a swordy at that point but she's not as annoying to get as others IMO.
Most of the Myrms you get are like, enemies until you recruit them and in hard modes they often move which I guess could be attribuited to as the main problem with recruitment.
