I have been mucking about with the FE11 nightmare modules for a bit, trying to put together the missing Chapter Modules in an attempt to manually randomize it. But i can't get anything involving the Unit Disposition files to work (It crashes on chapter load).

 

My own attempts at fixing the problem have led me to find that even when i don't change anything, just decompressing and recompressing the file (bmap001) is enough to make it not work. I suspect it has to do with the header mentioned in the Format Documentation for the Module, but i don't know what i have to do with it :(

So I recently started hacking this game and I am facing the same problem too.

 

I did some testing (decompressed and compressed and then compared the output file with the original bmap001) and it seems that Nintenlord compressor adds a "garbage-byte?" at the end of the file (just two 00, besides that the files are identical). I deleted those 00s and reinserted the file... It stll did not work. So the "garbage-byte" is not the solution.

 

Then I took a fresh bmap001, extracted it, and reinserted it witthout touching it... The result: Game freezes. It seems that the file itself does not have anything to do with our problem, but instead, the insertion method is causing the issues... I'll Research a bit more and try out other programs for inserting/extracting.

 

Actually.... I think Blazer should know the answer.... Soo... I hope he sees this.

 

Just a quick question... Are you using Nitro Explorer or DSLazy?
