Hello again, i would like help with some with,

 

1. Adding stat-boosts with items (Like the sacred weapons)

2. Making items on enemies drop-able.

3. Make 2 allies have the "if they die its game over" thing

4. Add custom music to the game. (Low priority) 

 

Any help will be super helpful!  :)

Uh... Let's see what I can even recall.

 

1. There's a module for Stat Bonuses and stuff. uhm... Since I suck at explaining, have a visual of what I am talking about.

2. There's an AI trait somewhere on chapter unit editors, I think it's on AI 4 which can set drop-able items. It'll only make the last one drop though, you can't set specifics.

 

Other two things I'm not sure of currently.

3 requires events or at least use of the death-related event ID... I don't hack FE8 so I'm not sure but try looking at the death quotes for main characters and seeing if you can figure out something from the patterns

 

for 4, look up a music insertion tutorial online, there should be a few. it's not easy though and generally takes some work to make it sound good (since it's MIDI music with hardware limitations and all), plus they're generally geared towards FE7 again, which is part of why people generally don't hack FE8 (it's kind of a self-fulfilling cycle or whatever of "FE8 is too hard to hack since you have to figure things out on your own, so hack FE7, which only increases the amount of knowledge of FE7 hacking there is", or something, lol)

I see, Fe7 was pretty easy to hack, and is probably where most people (that are not introduced by awakening or fates) start in Fe7,, and the fact that fe8 is much more complex? idk lol

Actually On #2 It seems that i hit a dead end

 

AI 4 seems to be "how the AI effects how the enemy attacks the player" 

 

Here is an example of an existing and non existing drop-able trait

and one more thing, for #1 It has just -1 or each stat and a bunch of numbers. I feel like I'm doing something very wrong. sorry for filling up this chat with my babble.

For stat things, just replace the numbers with whatever you need them as, the -1s are markers there for empty space.

 

2. Really? That's... Bizarre. I had sworn that was how FE8 handled this... hm... This means you need to use separate/dedicated character IDs for units that drop items, since they are set in with character abilities... ...Nope, not there either. uhhhh. what.

...uhm... nope, i can't seem to find what would make things drop. That is very strange. Sorry :<

hmm yeah idk either but I would just keep comparing everything about those enemies that you can find and see what's different, IIRC FE7 does it to the character itself (like it's tied to a character ID) but I vaguely remember FE8 being different, sadly I never really hacked FE8 so idk how ><; keep trying tho! lol

And yea one more thing, can you import Fe7 classes (Lord for example) to fe8? it seems possible but i want to make sure.

Yep, it's entirely possible to do, although, it's more like 'recreating' classes from scratch than it is importing them.

you can always use usenti to cut it back to 16 colors. that's probably the easiest way to do it.
