At first, I was like "ZOMG, an epic win swordmaster lord! She's gonna RAEP!"

I dunno Shu when I took Lyn to lvl 20/18 she had maxed out STR, Skill, Spd, Luk, and Res and had over 50 HP. She raped in the final chapter for me. No one could hardly stop her.
ANYWAYS my biggest let down in FE7 was whichever lord you chose (Eliwood or Hector) they couldn't promote til almost the end, making them weaker in the end than the other 2 lords I had already got to lvl20, changed, and nearly back to 20. Also all 3 lords dragon killing weps were WAAAY to heavy to be of much use.

The impersonators, Shanam, Navvare's person, etc.
I also hated Lyn, as her damage against the dragon with the lolwin weapons is like 3 x2.
Also, learning that FE5 has fatigue the hard way only training Finn/Leaf/h4x fighters.

I never used the "lolwin" weps on the dragon. I just used Athos and Canas with 2 Luna tomes FTW.

Leaf hit 20 for me by the chapter you get Shiva. In fact, EVERYONE on my team hit 20 on that level. ARENA ABUSE! Plus, you get S Drinks which remove fatigue by saving civilians, so you'll have quite a few of those by chapter 15 or so.

This was before SSBM, it was just a Japenese ROM I played, so I was really bad at that, I was a big n00b.
However, I know all that now, thanks to patches*Felover3 no longer sucking.

FE8 was a big disappointment. So was FEDS. Both lacked story depth.

Not only that but both of them became "Great Lord", unlike FE7 where they at least had a different name for each of the 3 change class lords. Also Ephriams was kinda recycled from Eliwood, just a different animation, but appearance was pretty close.
As for FEDS I hated that Marth didn't change. Also I found it too hard since avoid was calculated so differently that you couldn't avoid anything. I mean most FE games calculate avoid using the formula

This is about letdowns. You know what was a letdown? In FE8, they
didn't even need the Sacred Stones. They could have just kicked
the Demon King's ass.

Multiplayer in FEDS saved my interest and made it worthwhile, but the story REALLY lacked depth. I mean, some characters get ONLY ONE LINE: Death quote. Thomas, one of the best snipers, Zagaro/Sedgar's brother, could have had depth..but nope.
FE8 wasn't that much of a letdown for me, I thought the music was great and Lyon was a really pitiful (but in a good way) villain. Plus, Ephraim usually capped EVERYTHING, so it was good. At least it had supports, Multiple lords, and A SCRIPT/DIALOGUE.

FEDS was a remake of a very old game, so of course it seemed cliche and lacking depth. It was one of the first who made that cliche, hence why it didn't really make a let down for me.
Sheeda translated as Caeda however, that sucked....a lot.
FE8 was FE2 in a bland remake to me >.<

Yea I mean why where there Shamans and Druids in FEDS if there was no dark magic? Also it was very lazy that NO ONE had a custom palette. EVERYONE LOOKED THE SAME, ENEMY AND ALLY.

I was really excited to play FE9, and my biggest let down was the lack of dark magic (like FEDS) and also the lack of the mercenary and hero classes.
