Weeeell its been almost a week since Lebron and the Heat were crowned NBA champions over the Spurs. That said, I've been thinking about the teams that lost, and what they can do to make a run for the title next year. I'll go by my thoughts for each team.
East
Heat: I can't imagine them even having enough money to pursue anyone next year. (not that they need anyone anyway) Miami just announced that they are keeping Mario Chalmers. Although Allen is a free agent, I can't see him going anywhere.
Pacers: Paul George went God-mode during the playoffs, that blow-by-to-facial against Birdman was so sick. With Granger returning next season, that will open up huge opportunities for george to develop. With him at the 2 and Granger at the 3. That's going to be lethal. Apparently the Clips are looking to grab him though, although its just a rumor.
Bulls: Rose is coming back, so who knows what will happen to Nate, I honestly can't see him staying anymore. Bellinelli may also be up for a trade too. The Bulls need more offence if they want to have a better chance to get far next year. That said, with Rose back, they're totally going to make noise. Also, Deng is rumored to go to Washington.
Nets and Celtics: There are rumors for a HUGE trade between the two teams, sending Pierce, Garnett and Terry for Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Tornike Shengelia, Reggie Evans, Keith Bogans and three future first-round picks. IMO, i think the Celtics are in favour of this, seeing that Rondo is coming back and the players to come are younger than Garnett and Pierce. But Kevin Garnett's name has been jumping around all over so we'll just have to wait and see.
Knicks: Kidd has retired. So now they are looking at acquiring Chris Paul from the Clips. I always thought that on paper, the Knicks should be NBA champs, but they just couldn't get it done.
Bucks: MY TEAM. they're trying to keep Jennings. And since Ellis is a free agent, apparently Sacramento is looking to sign him. IMO, the Bucks are stuck in a shitstorm.
Hawks: I really don't care about this team. But apparently Josh Smith is rumored to get traded to the Nets. But that info was from February, so who knows.

That's all I'm covering for now, I'll update with the Western Conference later tonight.

This trade went through last night. I couldn't care less about KG, but it's tough to see Pierce leave the Celtics. Would've liked to see him retire a Celtic, but alas...
Trade is iffy to me. The Celtics are taking a pretty big gamble because they're just not going to have the experience to get anywhere with such a young team. Rondo isn't ready to be the leader quite yet. Maybe another season. This is definitely a long-run trade. And, let's face it, they need to rebuild
Honestly the thing I feel most horrible about is Kris Humphires wearing Celtic green....

I would like to see him retire as a Celtic too, however I could see why he left because of Wallace leaving the Nets, that and more starpower i guess. The Nets are stacked with stars now, with Willams, Johnson, Garnett and Pierce, and Terry kind of. They could go on a tear.
It IS kind of a dick move by Celtic's GM though. IMO I think Rondo can lead, he's arguably one of the greatest passing PG's in the league, I have no doubt he would be a strong leader. But you're right, its a long term trade and was necessary for them to compete again.

Nets can enjoy being possibly the 3rd best team in the East next year, they're still behind Heat and Pacers.
Pierce going is a sad day. Boston look like they're going to tank, big competition for Wiggins.

Rondo's a great PG and definitely one of the best passers/playmakers in the league, but he's still hotheaded and is known to run his mouth sometimes. He got suspended quite a few times last season.
I just attribute it to be a young player in such an important role. I hope he grows into it, considering it seems like Danny Ainge is building the future Celtics around Rondo.
The Nets are definitely thinking championship, hence why they bought all those stars. I think they have a legitimate chance at going pretty far. Pierce and Garnett are both getting older, though, so I'm not sure if it's wise for them to invest everything into those two guys. Plus, Garnett's knees could blow out at any moment
I don't know how I'm going to watch a Celtics/Nets game next season. If I go to any games I'm probably going to avoid ones against Brooklyn...

Same here. Bledsoe would have been a sick gain.
