Superstition, "is a belief in supernatural causality: that one event leads to the cause of another without any physical process linking the two events, such as astrology, omens, witchcraft, etc., that contradicts natural science."
11:11a.m./p.m. Doomsday, "step on a crack, break your mama's back", etc.

What I'm trying to get to is, does anyone really believe in this?

...aren't these the same thing?

I believe in judgment of humans through their judgment of fiction, for nothing else tells better of their disposition freed from apprehension.

Not in the doomsday stuff, nah. But stuff like walking under ladders? Sort of, because that's dangerous at the bet of times.

I'm not superstitious, but I see it as a sort of "believe in whatever you want and I'll believe in whatever I want" sort of deal, unless people take their superstitions to levels that end up affecting other people.

I never believe that end of the world crap. I'm not really that superstitious, by modern description, but hey, people believe what they believe. I can't usually change that.

Got Pokemon X/Y or OR/AS? Battle me! Or trade with me... Trading is cool too.

Generally speaking I don't actively believe in it but sometimes when people do speak of specific things about it I don't deny the possibility entirely the moment they state it unless it contradicts something else I already know. Like when I heard of the doomsday prediction the first time I thought "oh, it would suck if that actually happened" rather than "there's no way something so stupid would ever happen"

I believe in judgment of humans through their judgment of fiction, for nothing else tells better of their disposition freed from apprehension.

^ I agree with him. I'm usually like, "Meh. I don't see any reason why NOT to believe in it, so meh.
"You'll never forgive me? Like I give a damn."
"You got a jacked up notion of fair play pal...and it's beginning to piss me off."
"Though a fight every now and again does make life a little more interesting...dontcha think?"
