Been a while!

-Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers has been quite entertaining so far. It's taken my love for mystery and fantasy and combined them into a single anime that I like more than I'd have expected. I didn't see the latest episode's twist coming, which I'll discuss below:

Spoiler

-Everyday Life with Monster Girls is completely shameless, and it pains me to admit that I've been keeping up with it, but I enjoy the few and far-between moments that aren't just ridiculous amounts of fanservice. It's been nice to watch while playing a game or something so I have an excuse to ignore the worst of it. Cerea is cute, fight me.

-No Game No Life seems promising, though I'm sure everyone's already watched it (or decided to ignore it, or whatever. I'm late to the party, I know). I have a feeling that I'll be continuing it.

-Durarara is interesting, if occasionally hard to keep track of. I'm only four episodes in but I rather enjoy it. As soon as I figure out what's happening, I'm sure that'll only help matters.

I have to say that I cannot understand why monster girls(and since its girls in particular they're probably full-on fetish-oriented) is so popular. Like was it a thing a lot of people just didn't know that they wanted which they got introduced to through an anime that finally featured them, or what...

I mean, vampires being popular makes sense, because of their connotations supporting their (often metaphorically sexual)image, but most of the ones I've seen people talk about have no such thing (or even if they do they don't really care.) It's about as outlandish as large groups of people suddenly wanting to fuck an owl...well, then again, I guess Hatoful Boyfriend is a thing too.

On second thought, considering the relatively large amount of furry porn out there(bronies come to mind in particular, although I feel like they'd be more interested in full-on bestiality), I guess this is actually closer to the norm.

In other news, I recently found out that God Eater is going to be cut short to 9 episodes. I found the pace it was having okay for a 12-13 episode anime, but now it suddenly feels like it just wasted our time with the last-minute rush...

ALSO SEASON 2 OF ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM ON JANUARY YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH

Macross mostly as being a big fan I wondered why I haven't watched it.

Besides Shin Mazinger Impact pretty much for the same also I started a year ago.

Also cardcaptor just to see if it as good as I remember it to be.

Watching Arslan Senki, Sakurako, K: Return of Kings, Seraph of the End, Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka?? (mostly because I bothered to go through the first season), Comet Lucifer, and YGO Arc-V. Tried the first episode of Gakusen Asterisk or whatever, and the first episode of Concrete Revolution. Will detail out somewhat more later. Might try Kekkai Sensen for no reason other than how much people were lamenting over the lack of ending until recently.

Got up to the end of the Shindura arc in Arslan Senki. It pretty much re-affirms that this is the closest thing to a Fire Emblem anime you will ever get. (Yes, I know there's an OVA.) I don't feel like there's much to talk about because of the generic nature of the plot and how it doesn't bother to emphasize on the characters in it though. You just watch it to see people kill each other in war more or less. And politics stuff or whatever I suppose?

Sakurako is giving me mixed feelings. Both the show and the character. I hate the male MC by proxy of how he reminds me of Takanashi Souta, a.k.a. nagging "mature" person of the group that's a loliminicon. I have no interest in murder mysteries and it actually seems like bones won't even mean anything other than giving you some trivia about them and them being used as murder mystery clues, but it does seem to imply something bigger than what's currently happening so there's that I guess. As for Sakurako herself, in spite of her appealing qualities other things about her hit close enough to home to find her not particularly engaging. Also her disregard for being sanitary bothers me more than it should.

K: Return of Kings continues the #swag but absolutely forces you to rewatch the first season if you haven't done so recently as it is extremely reliant on you knowing what shit happened last time over, along with all the special terminology and so on.

Seraph of the End, less gay, somewhat more srs bzns. Will have to watch more episodes to make a better judgment.

Nothing worth mentioning about Gochuumon.

Comet Lucifer is also giving me mixed feelings. It's kind of funny how they seem to be going out of their way to make everything as coincidental as possible for the good guys. Did not know it was supposed to be a mech show, and while at first I liked the main character mecha I stopped liking it after it was shown what its...compact form is. Nothing against the mecha design though. Also I hate the main girl's eyebrows.

YGO is the usual. Also a main character crashed into a building from a motorcycle after being tossed off the street.

Gakusen Asterisk is something I will only be able to bear watching when it's completed if anyone says it's any good, as the MC does not have Kirito's voice.

Concrete Revolution looks like something other people will like a lot that I will have no interest in whatsoever.

Only have Fafner: Exodus right now.  I think I figured out what's going on...first season of Exodus (which I guess is their 2nd season of the franchise) is all build up.  Second season of Exodus (which is still part of their second planned series given the screwy way the seasons worked out) is all serious business.

Actually really underrated IMO.  Needs more love between orchestra pieces, some top tier action and animation (rarely do I praise either), and is slowly stopping with conversations that go nowhere.

I mean, I can't stop saying this season is an incredibly well written series...mostly because it really is.  But it's mixed with equal amounts of hate for the writers for creating a series where I care about everyone so much.

please. I didn't watch the movie or whatever for K and I'm doing fiiiiine.

well, mostly fine.

idk, I'm enjoying it anyway. XP I do kinda want to go back and watch stuff but at the same time, I'm lazy... so yeah

I'm really only in the show for the fight scenes XP

Just watched dbz resurrection of f. Djjsicuhtnsmxigifndnxkfjdkd...that is all.

uh... that didn't sound good. you ok? was it that bad or what? sorry, I took the bait with Battle of Z or whatever but I didn't even watch it in English/decided I was done after. can't take any of the new animated Dragon Ball stuff

Having just watched another episode, I think I'm going to sit in a corner and cry.  That did not just happen.  The only way my sanity survives is if I refuse to accept that last episode.

I mean, I can't stop saying this season is an incredibly well written series...mostly because it really is.  But it's mixed with equal amounts of hate for the writers for creating a series where I care about everyone so much.

um... this sounds like an emotional heartbreak show. yeah, I mean, just that pic. I can only imagine that was a legit character who died? ugh. I almost definitely wouldn't be able to take this show, I can see and feel it now. like, please no, stop with the feels. I can't.

-------------------------

as for what I'm watching, I haven't been keeping up with Noragami as I know what happens. I slooooowly managed to watch 2 episodes of One-Punch Man. As in, I watched one, thought it was ok, and yesterday I watched the other and also thought it was ok. and that's about where I'm at. definitely overhyped/the hype kinda killed the joy for me just a bit, but seems like a good show anyway

also, I picked up a show that had already aired its 1st season and is currently getting a 2nd season: Haikyu!!

This show got me absolutely hooked. Like, at a few points I just couldn't stop watching, it was so good. The character development, soundtrack, animation... so much of it is so good, and it just really got me into it. I'm not a volleyball fan or even a sports anime fan or anything, I just kind of randomly picked it up and I don't regret it. It was that good.

anyway. I need to convince someone to watch Haikyu!!
[10/27/2015 11:29:27 PM] ballin1337: so I can fangasm with someone about it
[10/27/2015 11:29:33 PM] ballin1337: it's soooo entertaining holy crap
[10/27/2015 11:30:15 PM] ballin1337: WHO HERE IS REALLY BORED AND HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN TO WATCH AN EPIC/HILARIOUS ANIME ABOUT VOLLEYBALL *shot*

[10/27/2015 11:58:11 PM] ballin1337: AND they just added an awesome new character to the second season

That's right. it's only been like, a couple weeks but I already caught up on the entire 1st season and despite wanting to hold back before watching the 2nd season so that there'd be more episodes out... I COULDN'T. IT WAS JUST TOO GOOD. At first I thought I wouldn't be able to get into the 2nd season so easily but... I did, thanks to said new character who I find really interesting, and man. It's a problem. I'm only one episode behind what's been aired. T_T

So that's about where I'm at. I'm not watching a lot compared to some other seasons (namely last season), considering I'm only barely keeping up with K, and have OPM and Noragami in the back (but I'm not caught up on them), but that's ok because I got to catch up on Haikyu!! and I have a bit more free time to do other stuff, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on any other good shows... so I'm pretty satisfied. I'd only be willing to watch more anime if there were more good anime to watch, but this season seems pretty barren if you're not watching season 2 stuff or the few other decent shows airing XP

@blazer(cuz too lazy to use the qoute button) it was actually decent. i'm annoyed about the entire premise, but enjoyed it still. I mean, frieza is dead...actually he's not just dead, he's been butchered. so instead of leaving him dead we're going to bring the pieces of his body back to life(this was actually the most morbid scene I've watched recently. nightmare fuel for the little kids that may watch it), put him back together with the newest technology, and then find out he's never trained one day in his life? who cares? just because you've never trained doesn't mean you can suddenly surpass a god from training for just 4 months.(which happened however briefly it was). also the way Goku won was total bullshit. I don't want to spoil anything, but it turns out whis is a lot more awesome than he was in battle of the gods. on another note for the first time ever vegeta is on the same level as goku, and it's hinted that gohan may still be far more powerful than everyone else(who isn't now a god) without having been training at all. and lastly krillin is bald again(this is the most important thing in the movie actually. I was disappointed when krillin grew out his hair, but now he's bald and everything is right with the universe once more)

Edit: anyone not watching one punch man should be. It's going very well, and so far is following the Manga very closely.

Well I just finished Mirrae Nikki (The Future Diary) recently. I must say I have never been so sad to finish an anime. This one has just claimed the throne of my favorite anime. It was absolutely magnificent. With the way it ended I'm surprised they didn't make more episodes or a sequal show.

Aaand last night I watched all of Maria the Virgin Witch. It was good. By no means was it my favorite. My biggest problem with it was how short it was. Only 12 episodes.

I've always wanted to see it because I've heard there's a great amount of research in the actual fighting in the series.  Is that true?

My favorites have gone from Naruto (my first anime), Deathnote, FairyTail, SAO, and Lucky Star. So Mirrae Nikki replaced Lucky Star.

Yes the combat seems quite historically acurate. Proper techniques, strikes in the proper places, and proper weapon size. The only place it goes off this streak is at one point a character gets a mechanical arm. Another thing is it mixed religions. You've got Valkries and Valhalla from Norse Mythology, Artemis/Diana from Greek/Roman Mythology, a Celtic god and central to the plot of the show medieval Catholosism.

I don't think that mixing mythologies is a bad thing if done well though. If you get them to all seem natural in the same room it really makes some wonderful things happen.

I kinda want to watch this show just to see how it does what you're saying, but I don't know if I'd be able to completely detach myself from it enough to not be torn apart like you seem to be, lol

I forgot to mention: you'd have to watch a really boring as hell set of about 13 episodes, 13 okay episodes (all from ~2005), and then a movie from 2010 which didn't age that well to really care.

That's the problem with Fafner...this season is par excellence but you can only really care if you've already invested...or are willing to spend a lot of time on the backstory.  It's one of those amazing statistical oddities on all review websites right now: fairly unknown but really well received by the 2 people who watch it.

Which reminds me, I should watch Tucker & Dale vs Evil at some point.

Is that executed well at all?  I mean, that's the Smash Brothers strategy to making things and look how it turned out for them.

It's more of an "in name only" kind of thing. For example, the valkyrie are there but they never really do anything and don't impact the story in any way.

I spent way to long stressing over the grammar and punctuation in this post.

That could be a good thing too though. I think that witches facing off against the soldiers of ragnarok could be pretty fucking awesome, but not delving into that crap too deep is much safer.

It's more of an "in name only" kind of thing. For example, the valkyrie are there but they never really do anything and don't impact the story in any way.

I spent way to long stressing over the grammar and punctuation in this post.

*too

clearly you didn't spend long enough :P

What I'm watching: Haikyu!! continues to be amazing (we're in a development phase where everyone is trying to get better super fast and Tsukishima is overcoming his issues that prevent him from playing at his best), and I'm looking forward to seeing the fruit of this... well, eventually. Can't rush it, or it won't be as rewarding, right? XP. I do hope we make some serious progress in the series as a whole though, which with 25 episodes, is possible, but... who knows. (I don't want to have to go read the manga T_T)

also, One Punch Man got good enough for me to actually be interested at some point (around when Saitama and Genos fought) so now I'm watching it and it continues to be solid, but way overrated IMO. Still, it's entertaining enough to keep watching, and even had a bit of a serious moment last episode, lol.

Aside from that, uh. Still not watching Noragami due to laziness of some kind, and don't feel like watching K either... maybe also some form of laziness. So yeah. That's where I'm at. XP
