I don't pay attention to most tropes and refuse to indulge myself in them (for lack of a better phrase) precisely because of this
stuff like TV tropes pretty much just take away enjoyment from things you could otherwise enjoy by making generalizations and unifying everything under a sort of negative connotation/feeling
like if you aren't constantly analyzing things, recognizing all the "tropes"--noting that THERE ARE TROPES FOR FREAKING EVERYTHING--etc., then you can actually enjoy things
I mean it's fine if you don't like something
and there are a LOT of reasons not to like anime
I can totally see stuff like the random fan service, big-boobed glasses girl, lolis, high school settings, etc. being annoying, to start--these are all things that bother me and decrease the quality of a show IMO but that I try to ignore if I know there are other enjoyable elements to the show (i.e. I don't let them piss me off unless it becomes one of the core elements or something)
but if it's just you being spiteful, comparing one show, character, event, setting, etc. to another, trying to reason out or make sense out of everything, you overanalyzing stuff and finding flaws in shows that aren't meant to be viewed that way, etc... that is sad, IMO, and I'm not sure anything can be done to help at that point, except for you ONLY enjoying that once-in-a-year show that manages to break away from most tropes or cliches or other stuff and is just really, really good
(and even acclaimed shows like Attack on Titan have plenty of tropes so there's no escaping them :| )
idk if that made any sense but yeah
