My favorite is dragons. Then ghosts. |
Dragons are definitely not mythical... but ghosts are cool... although they're really supposed to wandering spirits of deceased humans. Any specific in mind? Like the yukionna, the Grey Lady, Will O The Wisp, or even Jack O'Lantern? My second favorite is the kitsune.

Edit: Just realized the topic says Mystical, meaning directly related to religion.
Assuming the creator did mean mythical, Dragons are a myth. They was never real fire-breathing huge dragons, only komodo dragons and Dinosaurs, neither of which we'd be referring to. I assume, I wasn't anyways.
Also, I don't believe in God, therefore he is mythical to me. However in concerns of an offtopic discussion, if someone wants to comment on it, PM.

I wouldn't go through controversial topics like this because there are some who do and some who don't...

How are dragons not mythical? |
Dragons... a.k.a dinosaurs... because the word dinosaur was invented in 1840. Dragon is how they used to refer to them back then. Notice how the Chinese have a medical bone called "dragon bone"... which we later figured out were dinosaur bones. As for mythical... why is it that so many different cultures ALL thought up of a fire breathing dragon? If it were mythical, I'm sure someone would have thought up of some fire breathing hamster of some sort. As for fire breathing animals, there are fire breathing animals. Ever heard of the Bombardier Beetles? They literally fart fire... so breathing fire isn't out of the question. Those dinosaur skulls... remember those hollow holes that scientists could not find its purpose for? It's possible that those holes contained chemicals so that the dinosaurs could breathe out fire through their nostrils... you can't rule out that possibility.
And of course, we have our Komodo Dragons and... Bearded Dragons!

First line, they're talked about as legendary.
I already brought up the point of komodo dragons, bearded dragons are just like that. They're just lizards with a common name involving dragon. Does not count. I am referring to dragons seen in DnD and the such.
Edit: Wraith, the thing about God is why I added the final line. I agree with you.
And that's just speculation, if you want to be like that, ghosts are real too, because a lot of people believe in them. Dinosaurs =/= to my image of Dragons. Going with just facts, I can rule out that possibility.
And yeah, I'll fight for this. lol Dragons are mythical.

Which are really dinosaurs... a word invented in 1840.
Rule #1 for lizards: they NEVER STOP growing provided they are in the right conditions...
I wouldn't bias everything on our philosophical bias where we do not believe supernaturals exist. It's hard to rule out that possibility. And why Wikipedia, the source of liberal bias? :-/

The dragons I think of when I hear dragon/refer to dragon, is the DnD ones. Which are impossible to exist since Gold Dragons could control time and space, meaning they'd never die.

I used wikipedia because another member did. nowhere in the article does it state dragons are dinosaurs, near the bottom it says that dinosaur fossils were believed to be dragon fossils in 300BC, and might be a possibly connection. But it also says that it could've easily come from our innate fear of reptiles due to the dinosaur age. The dragons I think of when I hear dragon/refer to dragon, is the DnD ones. Which are impossible to exist since Gold Dragons could control time and space, meaning they'd never die. |
It's because of their liberal bias. Wikipedia definitely isn't NPOV. Here are some interesting ones here. And I'm pretty sure dinosaurs lived alongside humans... I could give you many examples of dinosaurs/dragons relationship, but not right now.
