Discussion Points:

-The first game was released back in April 1990, so will anyone be playing any Fire Emblem games this month to celebrate? I know I'll be playing the DS games and Awakening, and maybe finish up a Path of Radiance file I've left hanging (if I get another working disc/fix the one I already have).

-I hope a 25th Anniversary artbook comes out soon! I missed out on the 20th Anniversary book, it's out of print now and is crazy expensive! I do have the Akaneia Chronicle Memorial Book and the Knights of Iris Artbook (and a Japanese strategy guide for Thracia 776 for whatever reason; I don't even have the game!)

FE TCG? This catches my interest, especially since the old one seems phased out by this point. I also can't wait for the concert to be uploaded somewhere. Heck, I'll buy the CD if I can.

I love how the Maribelle card is in a completely different style than all the other cards.

Heheh sorry about that, I usually take the initiative and make these topics but you know, so busy and all. thanks for doing it :)

So yeah, 25th Anniversary! That's kind of crazy. Fire Emblem is older than I am. Heck, it's super old: one of the earlier Nintendo series. I mean not super super old but it's older than a lot of other games. I feel like FE is so niche that it often doesn't get appreciated as a classic, especially since it never came over here until freaking FE7 for GBA.

That aside, the concert sounds awesome! I hope we get to see/hear something out of it, though I have a feeling we might not. Obviously it's not practical for most of us to go, but it's still awesome it's happening.

The TCG Fire Emblem thing looks really cool--I'm mainly attracted by the art, honestly. The art seems awesome. This isn't the first time Fire Emblem had a trading card game, to my knowledge. I'm interested in seeing how this is going to pan out on a bigger scale (is it going to be pretty basic or are they trying to expand this into a bigger trading card game phenomenon of sorts--not on like, Yugioh level ofc, but something with a solid fanbase). It'd be nice if we got it over here too, but NoA is so like... hesitant about these things. They don't want to put into the effort or whatever.

And of course, I'm excited for both FEif and SMTxFE. Can't help it, I'm kind of easy to excite, especially when it comes to RPGs lol.

EDIT:

I love how the Maribelle card is in a completely different style than all the other cards.

Oh man you're right, now that I look at it, it does stick out a bit. Those eyes. The real question is, of course, "why?", lol

I think it's great how they could've given her a suave, elegant look but instead went for shoujo eyes.

LOL

does it say something about her character, maybe

not that I really used her or got much of her support conversations, but wasn't she somewhat of a stuck-up noble tsundere?

Nintendo doesn't have enough of my money yet, the tcg and a cd of that concert need to come to America. I'll be setting aside money for a fire emblem tcg fund if that makes its way over.

yeah we wish lol, seems like we don't get things unless we beg, and even if we do beg, we don't necessarily get things. People have resorted to starting somewhat meaningless rallies/operations for things (in the sense that they start so many and go for quantity > quality that it doesn't really work anymore.) Operation Rain worked, but I can't say the same of #OperationFaceplate or other things

eh, well :\

Yeah, sqaure has been basically ignoring most of the "give us dragon Quest" stuff lately. Can't see why Nintendo would do any different. On the other hand I need to give Nintendo more money so they should bring it over. I'll beg all they want.

yeah Square is >___> we need them to bring over all the games they aren't... and faster. I expect to see one or two Dragon Quest games, not including Theatrhythm Dragon Quest (though that should also come over), and Final Fantasy Explorers even if it wasn't that great of a game (we could use more games in general!) and Bravely Second better come over sooner than later too, or something not that I'm personally in a rush but still

EDIT: and somehow this topic got derailed... but whatever, that's ok. we technically don't even have rules yet. *shot*

Getting the topic back on track, are there any important announcements for the West? Cause most of the links I see are for japan.

Overclocked Remix has a 25th anniversary Fire Emblem remix album in the works: http://ocremix.org/f...ead.php?t=48975
For anyone with musical skills who's interested, feel free to sign up, claim a track and get started on a WIP. The deadline is pretty soon, but I'm pretty sure they'd be grateful for the support.

Agent Ryru: But on the other hand even I would have to admit said game could be awesome.

No announcements for the West yet =( and seeing as how the actual anniversary is only a week away I don't think we're going to see anything. On the other hand this means we need to have our own celebration. I vote for a mass exodus to Japan.

There was a livestream of a press conference for the card game yesterday:

http://live.nicovide...tch/lv216702710(requires a NicoVideo account)

-The card game will be released on 06/23/2015, the same day Fire Emblem if will be released in Japan.

-The Series 1 set (starter decks and booster) will feature characters from the DS games (Shadow Dragon and New Mystery) and Awakening.

-Series 2 will feature characters from Fire Emblem if, and Series 3 will feature characters from Path of Radiance as well

-Marth, Lucina, and Minerva (as a Pegasus Knight) will appear in Fire Emblem if as DLC (the booster set for the TCG will have download codes for them)

Minerva states that she used to be a Pegasus Knight in a base conversation from New Mystery of the Emblem.

Take into consideration that in the Akaneia games, Dracoknights are the default second-tier class for Pegasus Knights.

Still, she's more widely known as a dracoknight. Might be based on design choices
