@  xcrash1998 : (23 November 2017 - 08:12 PM) I mean in terms of how they sell their games and then there are DLC's and every thing. Nintendo is clearly going into that kind of direction. (Actually is doing that already). Not that I am against them trying to keep profit high to stay in the business but there needs to be a better way.
@  xcrash1998 : (23 November 2017 - 08:09 PM) How do you think will nintendo change in the future
@  Fire Blazer : (13 November 2017 - 08:55 PM) lol, perhaps
@  kirant : (13 November 2017 - 07:19 PM) I assume nostalgia hits as soon as we get old enough to "fall out" of things.
@  Rujio : (13 November 2017 - 03:57 PM) aren't we supposed to be too young for nostalgia or something?
@  Fire Blazer : (13 November 2017 - 06:08 AM) yet it feels bad since somewhere in my heart I miss all that
@  Fire Blazer : (13 November 2017 - 06:08 AM) and even if i am i dont find myself talking about video games much like the old days. esp. not serious conversations on forums
@  Fire Blazer : (13 November 2017 - 06:08 AM) :( idk man i'm hardly even into FE anymore
@  xcrash1998 : (12 November 2017 - 09:50 PM) hi
@  Rujio : (12 November 2017 - 05:46 PM) I mean I'm actually around pretty frequently. But we never do anything.
@  Idiot : (12 November 2017 - 04:13 PM) Not since the fire nation attacked...
@  Valke : (12 November 2017 - 10:07 AM) hi hello anyone here
@  Idiot : (11 November 2017 - 07:51 AM) Blegh, even
@  Idiot : (10 November 2017 - 05:11 PM) same
@  Fire Blazer : (10 November 2017 - 04:54 AM) meh
@  Fire Blazer : (07 November 2017 - 04:52 AM) yeah, seems fine to me
@  kirant : (04 November 2017 - 07:51 PM) To update the Crunchyroll thing: according to their Twitter page, they've fixed their website.
@  Mercurius : (04 November 2017 - 04:43 PM) if for whatever reason anyone else here hasn't been informed yet, Crunchyroll is currently dangerous to visit due to having been hacked.
@  Fire Blazer : (03 November 2017 - 11:41 PM) and maybe if I have extra budget I can hire Kirant to act as the creative producer on a new AW-like game
@  Fire Blazer : (03 November 2017 - 11:40 PM) anyway, seems we're in agreement with the IS thing, lol. FE is what it is now, we gotta live with that and/or move on I guess, haha. this is why I plan to make my own FE-like game one day

yeah it's getting huge right now, but is it going to stick? i really don't think so myself. it seems more like the flavor of the year, might die out around...idk mid 2018? yeah i'm predicting way ahead, and there's no way to know what will happen with technology in the next two years. the thing is VR has never taken off before in all of its iterations. i mean this is the most exposure VR technology has ever gotten to my knowledge, and people are still skeptical of it. is it cool? sure it is. who doesn't want to have aliens explode right in front of them, or feel like they're actually driving the cars into a wall because they accidently hit the e-brake button? i just don't see it replacing traditional tv screens for example(in terms of gaming right now). not to mention the price on most VR hardware is insane atm. i would have to set aside several paychecks after my bills to be able to afford the HTC Vive for example. probably 5-6 depending on how large the bills are/how much i worked/whatever.

I've only ever played one VR game, and it was one called "the chair." (courtesy of the guy who made my computer. He apparently makes enough money to buy this kind of stuff.) While it was an interesting experience that didn't require me to get out of the chair, I have to admit that it's not something I would like to do on a regular basis. Not to mention that anyone with any amount of motion sickness will not be able to tolerate them. You have to have a REALLY bad camera mechanic to make me motion sick (see: the rugrats reptar's revenge game for PS1) but by the end of it I was feeling a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle...err...off? I wouldn't say dizzy, but the constantly turning around was definitely doing something to my head.

I can definitely see it being a fad. I really don't like wearing that massive helmet, and anyone with glasses is gonna have to suffer because you can't wear the helmet with glasses. Actually, the helmet-goggles thing might have been a contributor to my slight disorientation.

apparently it's best used in shorter spurts and is something you get somewhat used to over time. so I wouldn't worry too much about that in a sense (just like how you probably wouldn't want to marathon a game with motion controls for so long lol)

as for VR being a fad or not in general, I feel like this is one of the big questions in general people are wondering about, haha. that being said I think there will be some small fanbase at least for some while and it definitely has entertainment value in other regards (not really gaming if you know what I mean though...) so I don't think it'll ever die out completely, but I do think it also has the potential to stick if it can get some really fleshed out experiences that strike with people.

I don't think VR should be seen as the "next" type of gaming or whatever, it's definitely not a replacement to real/traditional gaming IMO. it's just another type of weird entertainment. that being said I don't like missing out on cool games so I'll def be trying it out but I can't see myself really getting into it like regular awesome games. not with all of its limitations (can't play too long, not very portable, have to focus only on the game, and only some types of games are really suited to it; also, it's expensive, though that's not a real issue once you have it, lol...)

i was talking specifically about video games tbh. i don't see it becoming "the next evolution of gaming", but i could see it for other stuff. like a virtual reality tour of a house you want to buy(that could be pretty cool actually...patent pending)

Isn't Pokemon Go sort of virtual reality? LOL.

Or basically anything with fast repetitive movements and motion controls. Mario Party 8 had a few minigames that could wear you out in seconds.

Think of the flip side... Halloween? Haunted Houses? Forget the ones people physically make. Let's creep people out with VR!

Not that I'd do it. I'm too skittish.

Insert obligatory 2022 comment here.

I believe in judgment of humans through their judgment of fiction, for nothing else tells better of their disposition freed from apprehension.

"patent pending" ahahaha

if it's games specifically then I don't think it'll be a total fad but I don't feel like it can replace gaming, so it'll be kind of like... games that use the touch screens on the 3DS still, it won't be mandatory, most games might not use it, it'll just be a thing some people do, I guess. It's definitely a bigger thing than touch screens, mind, but even though it was impressive when I tried it, it's not something I'm excited about.

it's actually "augmented reality"--reality changed/augmented with something. different from virtual reality, which is basically an entire new world.

start working out, Blue Leafeon

the horror stuff definitely has potential, but... yeah, I dunno. that might be a bit too immersive for me, hahaha. I get the appeal, I'm just not a horror fan myself, so... XP

bahahhaa

tbf, they're working on something, but it's got a looooong way to go.

start working out, Blue Leafeon

I have been working out. Unfortunately, working out has not been working out all that well.

I'm perfectly fine with handhelds and tvs for video games, thanks.

bahahaha, good one

hope I didn't offend youu, I was just teasing XD. Likewise, I dig the whole 'separation of video games and physical activity' deal. i'm ok with like Wii Bowling but if I wanted real exercise I'd probz go do it heh XD
