So I know many of us are going to play both sides (despite some of us being upset that the sides are split into two games) but let's say you could only pick one or you had to decisively pick one to play first over the other (as opposed to playing both "at the same time", or trading off chapter-by-chapter or whatever). Which side would you pick?

Personally, the Hoshido side feels a little bit more appealling to me; perhaps I just like the character designs and less intense premise a little bit better, but I think if I had to choose, I'd go with the Nohr side. While I do like easygoing games, it sounds like Nohr is going to offer more of a traditional and hardcore Fire Emblem experience, and after Awakening that is something I would definitely like to try/go back to, as opposed to getting something closer to "more of the same" with Hoshido.

How about you guys? Will you choose "#TeamHoshido" or "#TeamNohr" (yes this is a thing on Twitter)

Nohr because Marx is a badass, more traditional FE style, that dark mage character, suzaku expy.

I'm probably going to start with nor. Obviously I'll be playing all three routes (assuming I have the extra money for the two that will be dlc), but nohr looks like it's going to be more fun.

Cero is a believer of Marxism *shot*

seems like Nohr is making the slightly stronger impression on people despite us not knowing that much

Just because I always like playing the "good guys", gonna say Hoshido, at least for my first run. They did say it would be an easier route though, which kinda makes me not want to, but I'll play it for the plot anyway. XD

And, if it is two versions, I might have to consider which one more deeply, or just get both...

Got Pokemon X/Y or OR/AS? Battle me! Or trade with me... Trading is cool too.

Yeah but I think like Awakening, you can probably handicap yourself a tiny bit by choosing not to grind etc. which should prevent you from totally steamrolling the game. And honestly there are usually difficulty modes involved too so I'm thinking that difficulty could be factored into both difficulty, casual/classic mode, and the route you take (with a route's "normal mode" naturally being more difficult than the other route's "normal mode", for instance).

And indeed, it's not confirmed that the west will get two versions, but I think the easiest solution for us FE fans is to just save up money and chuck it at Nintendo/IS so we can get all the routes XD

Now the biggest question is: Do I start on Lunatic or Hard mode first?

I know this was strikethrough'd, but... hard mode

seriously, lunatic mode sounds a bit masochistic. I am going to start on normal mode as usual and enjoy the story. I think I only ever STARTED on hard mode once, for FE9, because I don't even know why (maybe I was arrogant after beating FE8 and thought I was good at the game: well, not like FE9 hard mode was that hard, since I beat it when I was still relatively young).

Judging from the trailer, it sounds like the conflict is Nohr's fault to begin with, so I can't really sympathize with them (it's like being able to play for Daein under Ashnard or the Black Fang under Nergal, when your leader is obviously a psychopathic mass murderer). Gameplay-wise, the Nohr side does seem to be more akin to FE8's Ephraim route.

I usually start on Normal, but I started FE10 on Easy and FEA on Hard. FE10 Easy and FEA Hard ended up being about the same difficulty imo.
FE:RD Hector Lunatic Mode, let's gooooo

Nohr, for sure. I'm incredibly interested in playing as the overly aggressive or "bad dudes" in a Fire Emblem game. I also love anti-heroes, so this is kinda a dream come true.

Honestly, probably both. Save up my pennies for two copies of the game, pick one route each haha.

Nintendo have finally caught me out. The amount of money I'll probably spend on these wiith all the DLC and such to come is obscene.

No need to buy two copies. The route you don't choose will be available as dlc supposedly.

I kinda question this, true or not. If that's going to be the case, why not just make them one game? Oh well, I'll probably end up playing both routes one way or the other.

Can FE:RD Hector Lunatic mode please be a thing. I would play that to my death.

Only reasons I can think of for them being seperate like that is because a) Nintendo needs the money right now and B) because they're different to the point where they can be considered two games. Either way I don't like it very much.

Not supposedly, it will be. It's pretty much the other route at half price. Too lazy to go check for the exact values though. It's the same price as the third route DLC.

Nohr for me. It has some cool characters like Marx and said to have a complex plot and hard difficulty. Hoshido looks pretty interesting though. I really hope when IF comes over here in the west, maybe they will package all of the sides together into one game or something. :c
