@  Fire Blazer : (12 January 2019 - 08:55 PM) tho personally I guess I'm not too afraid of responding to old messages anyway sometimes, haha
@  Fire Blazer : (12 January 2019 - 08:54 PM) to have discussions where people respond at their own convenience
@  Fire Blazer : (12 January 2019 - 08:54 PM) forums could still be used but we'd have to make a bit of an effort I guess
@  Fire Blazer : (12 January 2019 - 08:54 PM) I agree with Mage Girl/Cero/Elwood/Kirant lolol
@  xcrash1998 : (12 January 2019 - 10:15 AM) And yeah missing stuff on discord is easy depending on when most people are online
@  xcrash1998 : (12 January 2019 - 10:11 AM) I think there are just fewer people interested in taking part on forums since most information is already accesible trough the many means.
@  Mercurius : (09 January 2019 - 02:46 AM) Well, at the same time I also don't frequent most of the discord channels I'm a part of, though.
@  Mercurius : (09 January 2019 - 02:46 AM) I used to prefer forums but I've been spoiled by the "everything at the same hub" thing...
@  kirant : (06 January 2019 - 07:39 PM) I'm of pretty similar opinion...it's easy to miss a good discussion on Discord (which plays much more into a "stream of consciousness" feel).
@  Elwood : (04 January 2019 - 10:42 PM) I prefer forums because they keep everything more organized. With Discord you can have 3 conversations jumbled together and not know what anyone is talking about. It's also way easier to miss stuff.
@  Cero : (31 December 2018 - 07:23 AM) mhmm, its rough
@  Mage Girl : (29 December 2018 - 11:33 AM) I feel like a lot of forums have much less traffic because most of us who appreciate them are much busier than we used to be, and I don't think the younger generation is too keen on finding forums anymore

I've recently discovered Nightmare and am eager to mod some Fire Emblem games. The only thing I currently want to do is to add 1 character to FE 7.

I've selected an existing class, sprite and portrait. I can select the new character and select his starting position in a chapter. But as soon as I click on "apply changes", it changes my character to "0x00 none". Just saving instead of applying doesn't work either.

I'm new to this, and couldn't find a tutorial that addresses this. I also have no idea how Event Assembler works.

Can someone explain to me what I have to do?

Thanks in advance.

Same problem. As soon as I press enter, it goes from my custom character "0x100 Robert" to "0x00 none". In chapter unit editor.

How did you add the character did you replace the space of an other character or did you try to create more space?

"0x100 Robert"

That doesn't look right did you try to add space by editing the text file in nightmare.

In FE 7 modules, I've edited "Character List.txt" in "Chapter Unit Editor" module. I first just tried to just add a new name, but it wouldn't even show up. But I saw that the number of names (256 total) were written in hexadecimals. So I just changed the total number to 257, and added the custom name at the bottom of the list.

I did the same to "FE 7 Character List.txt" in the "Class & Character Editor" module.

I barely know what I'm doing actually. :P

It seems easier to change an existing character right now, than to make a new one. Even though I just copied most of existing characters anyway.

If you want to add a new character you will need to expand the rom you can look how to do that in the ultimate tutorial but I don't think it will really be necesery to know how to do that especiall if you are just at the beginnig.

Better just take an existing character from the game and change that one. So just edit a character e.g. use elliwoods slot to load Jaffar

And also changing the stuff in the text file will only change what it says in nightmare but wont change as what it is saved in the game, that is in the text editior

check out this tutorial:

it starts you up very good

And for event asembler  search up arch's eventing tutorial and this video:
