[Fire Blazer]

For those who haven't yet heard, today's Nintendo Direct introduced an (official) crossover of Fire Emblem with the RPG series Shin Megami Tensei.

While many RPG fans are pleased at this news, others are simply surprised or unaware of how to react: many do not know much of the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona games and are speculant about how this crossover will work out. Others are simply shocked at this turn of events, as Fire Emblem has never had a crossover like this, and I don't think anybody predicted anything quite like this.

Regardless, Atlus and Intelligent Systems are now working together, and the product is something we'll have to keep our eyes on. In hopes of hearing new information soon, a new forum will be created shortly thereafter this post. No new skins or anything to promote the game are planned anytime soon as it has just been announced and for all we know, the game may not come out until mid-2014.

Well, technically speaking the Super Smash series were crossovers...

I don't really get how this crossover will work, but having all the awesome SMT characters with Fire Emblem characters? Take my money dangit.

I already counted for that, smartass, notice the words "like this"

the name "Fire Emblem" isn't in the title nor is the Fire Emblem series the main focus of that game or anything like that; it's one series who has a few characters put into a game consisting of a crossover of a LOT of other series, and aside from the characters not much else is taken from the game, whereas we can expect this crossover to focus more on the two games at hand, SMT and Fire Emblem, and perhaps even borrow elements from each etc.

I'm excited for this because of the games it involves. Doubtless, I won't be able to get it for a few months after its release.

...I'm finding it really hard to believe this crossover choice for some reason.

I'll probably buy it anyway though.

Um, okay? I'm definitely in the "unsure" camp on this. I'm generally wary of crossovers, though, because it strikes me as more of a marketing maneuver than genuine game making. There are just too many constraints that come with trying to stuff the very different worlds together. But I won't condemn it given how little we know.

Gotta say, not quite sure what to feel, but that's because I've never even played an SMT game before. That said, I'm excited that more Fire Emblem stuff is getting announced, and I'm planning on purchasing a WiiU at some point anyway. I'll likely end up buying this game as well.

Meh, I'm too much of a fanboy not to buy the game

but hey maybe this will actually be an amazing crossover or something and be super popular o_O
